GeneralPumpN-type standard pumps are normal-priming, single-stage,plastic centrifugal pumps with horizontal axis. Theirdimensions and flow rates correspond to DIN/EN 22858.
The pumps of this series were developed to meet therequirements of the chemical industry and are thereforeespecially suited to pump pure or solid matter containing,acid or alkaline, low-viscosity liquids.
As the materials getting in contact with the pumpedmedium are physiologically harmless, the pumps canalso be used in the food industry.
The standard use of extension coupling ensures simpledismantling of bearing supports and internal pumpcomponents without removing the pipe connections andmotor. This avoids laborious alignment of the pump andmotor when assembling the system.
Pump head, impellerAll wetted-end parts are made of high-quality materialssuch as PP, PVDF, hard carbon, EPDM or FPMelastomers. The external metallic parts are protectedagainst corrosion by a chemically resistant varnish coat.For all pump sizes, closed impellers with relief boringsfor compensation of the axial thrust are used. Thetransmission of the torque is form-locking.
Position of connections, flangesThe suction connection is positioned axially, the pressureflange radially in upward direction. As a standard thesuction and pressure connections are fitted with flangesaccording to DIN 2501/PN 10.
Shaft and bearingBearing of the strongly dimensioned stainless steel shaftis done by two oil or grease-lubricated roller bearingsaccommodated by a 26 cast iron bearing support.A shaft sleeve of synthetic resin-impregnated carbon(or PVDF) protects the pump shaft against contact withthe pumped medium.
Shaft sealsThe shafts are sealed by means of maintenance-freemechanical seals. Depending on the operatingconditions, internal, single-acting or double-actingversions are used. Double-acting mechanical sealsrequire a sealing liquid.Sliding materials in silicon carbide (SiC), bellows andsecondary seals of EPDM or FPM, metallic parts ofstainless steel (1.4571) or Hastelloy C-4 (2.4610) arestandard combinations and cover a large range ofapplications.The space available in the sealing area allows to usestandard seals.Special versions on request.

Mechanical seals
GeneralMechanical seals basically consist of two perfectly pla-ne surfaces. One surface rotates with the shaft, whilethe other one is stationary. The sealing effect is achievedby the direct contact between the two plance surfaces.The stationary counter-ring is normally fixed in position.
Single-acting, loaded, internal seal, independent ofdirection of rotation.
Combination of sliding materials in silicon carbide (SiC).Bellows and secondary seals of EPDM and FPM. Metallicparts of stainless steel or Hastelloy C-4.
Suitable for application with neutral and aggressivemedia which do not crystallize out and are free from solidmatter.
Type B2I Type B2Q
Single-acting, loaded, internal seal, independent ofdirection of rotation, with quenching chamber. Thequenching chamber is sealed from the atmosphere by ashaft sealing ring to prevent deposits and/or reductionof the temperature in the area of the mechanical seal.
Combination of sliding materials in silicon carbide (SiC).Bellows and secondary seals of EPDM and FPM. Metallicparts of stainless steel or Hastelloy C-4.
Suitable for application with aggressive media tendingto crystallize out.
Function of quending:- Prevention of crystallizing rings (air seals)- Absorption of leakage- Cooling of sliding rings- Monitoring of leakage rate- Lubricating film stabilization during vacuum operation
The sliding ring is able to move axially and radially inorder to compensate the shaft deflections duringoperation. This axial mobility enables mechanical sealsto be fitted within practicable manufacturing tolerances,the accuracy required being dependent on the design ofthe seal.

Double-acting, loaded, internal seal, independent fodirection of rotation, arranged back-to-back with sealingchamber. This arrangement is the most usual form ofdouble-acting seals used for difficult, chemicallyparticularly aggressive media.
Combination of sliding materials in silicon carbide (SiC).Bellows and secondary seals of EPDM and FPM. Metallicparts of stainless steel.
Suitable for application with aggressive and abrasivemedia.
