wire mesh and straightening plates, as well as a honeycomb
structure, are provided to maintain a uniform in-channel
cross-sectional airflow for straightening. The diameter of the outlet
port is 500 mm, and the maximum velocity is 50 m/s (180 kmph).

Seal ring
Coil spring
This seal conducts sealing on two planes perpendicular or almost perpendicular to the fan/blower shaft. One of the planes is used as a rotary plane, and the other is used as a stationary plane. Packings are also referred to as edge seals, and of these seals, shaft-sealing devices having a buffer mechanism to maintain the to-be-sealed planes in an appropriate contact status are referred to as mechanical seals.Advantage: - Virtually no leakageDisadvantages: - Complex in structure, and expensive. - Difficult to replace.
Labyrinth seal (Non-contact seal)
This seal forms very small clearances between a rotor and a stator. The gas usually leaks and decreases in pressure while the flow of the gas alternates between the relatively wide clearances and relatively narrow ones of the formed clearances. The seal utilizes the event. This type of seal is used in the cases that the surface velocity of the fan/blower shaft exceeds 12 m/s and that a slight amount of gas leakage from the casing is allowed.Advantages: - No sections suffer wear because of non-contact. - Easily responsive to thermal expansion.Disadvantages: - Sealing performance during slow rotation and
under a stopped state is relatively low.
V-rings (For electric blowers: Daito Factory products)
The V-ring, made from 100% homogeneous rubber, has its ribs and body coupled via hinges. The V-ring is mounted for sealing against dust and moisture, and this ring is provided as a standard component in virtually all middle-size and larger electric fans and blowers manufactured at the Daito Factory.

The fan/blower performance curve sheets in the catalog are based on a standard state of 20˚C. Even for identical fans/blowers, when the temperature of the gas being to be handled changes, specified points (design criteria) will change as follows per the following calculation expressions:
The shaft seal refers to that of the region at which the fan/blower penetrates the casing. The shaft-sealing device is needed to prevent the gas inside the casing from leaking from the shaft seal, or to prevent the atmosphere from flowing from the shaft seal into the casing.
If the kind of gas to be handled is standard air and the static pressure is up to nearly 1 kPa, there is no need to provide the shaft-sealing device. In general, packings and/or labyrinth seals are used in fans.
Notes: Air changes in volume according to temperature and pressure, and will expand when the temperature rises. When air expands, mass will decrease even if the volume remains the same. However, since the air volume, as expressed in terms of m3/min or m3/h, is a volumetric flow rate that represents the volume per unit time, the air volume will remain invariant, even when the temperature rises.

Construction of Fans and Blowers Energy-saving Effects of Reducing the Fan/Blower Speed by 10%
If the fan/blower is stored or shut down with the rotating shaft of the impeller remaining stopped for at least about three months in succession, contact sections between the balls of the bearing and the track surface may suffer oil film breakage, depending on the season or the environment. If this is the case, unusual sounds will result from unwanted events such as corrosion.Remove the bearing guard periodically (at least once a month) and manually rotate the shaft through about 10 turns to prevent bearing corrosion.
Precautions for storage
The roller ball dropping sound of the fan bearing features the following
 V-belt drive
Tapered shaft/holes adopted for fan/blower mounting fixtures
 Directly connected to coupling
 Denchoku standards
(1) Store your product at a dry location with minimum changes in indoor temperature.(2) Shroud your product with waterproof sheeting to protect the product from moisture, oils, dust, and the like.(3) Avoid storage in a place exposed to direct sunlight, strong vibration or heat, and the like. Also, avoid contact with a cold
wall.
(1) Upon moving from a non-loaded area into a loaded area, the roller becomes free to move and the balls start to roll by gravity, thus hitting the retainer to generate the sound.
(2) The magnitude of the sound varies from product to product.(3) The sound level increases and decreases.
(1) The internal clearances of the heat-resistant bearings and other bearings of the B2V and B3V blowers which rotate at high speed are preset to be C3 clearances allowing for expansion due to bearing temperature rises to at least about 150˚C.
(2) Since the C3 clearances are large in comparison with CN clearances, the roller ball dropping sound may occur under relatively low bearing temperatures.
