Topic focus areasA structured breakdown of topics designed around you and your workplace industry.

Canada’s Digital Strategy outlines a strong focus on resourcing, productivity, workforce and culture to ensure the success of new citizen and business focused initiatives. To assist government departments and agencies in achieving this, the Public Sector Innovation Show program 2020 includes a specialist focus stream on skills development to support greater capability as the demand for government services continues to grow. Topics include attracting, developing, retaining and engaging a diverse range of talent, the future of work, effective multigenerational workforce management, employee engagement, leadership and remote working arrangements.

People

Doing more with less is an ongoing goal for the public sector. A key strategy to achieve this is back-office-transformation and transforming existing processes to deliver better and more efficient services. This specialist stream will focus on enhancing lean and agile process transformation, automating processes and simplifying digital access to a broader range of services, to enable scale, better responsiveness and multi-channel service delivery.

Processes

Technology plays a critical role in transforming government. Topics to be discussed in this specialist stream will include incorporating leading edge technology. AI, chatbots, automation and robotics, rapid machine learning, and how to utilize loT, cloud and other emerging technologies to achieve a more efficient public sector. Another core focus will be on how to best balance cyber risk and resilience while maintaining organizational effectiveness and complying to privacy laws.
