PNEUMATIC TIRE COMPACTORPT240
Achieve uncompromising results with the Case PT240 pneumatic tire compactor. The eight-tire PT240 delivers operating and application versatility. Operating versatility: through a wide range of ballast options, an on-board managed tire inflation control system, and an isostatic front axle required for a broad range of surfaces and applications. Application versatility: the rubber-tire “kneading effect” produced by the PT240 make it ideal for hot mix asphalt treatments, wear courses, chip - seal applications, and soil stabilization using asphalt emulsions, calcium chloride, fly ash, lime, Portland Cement modifiers and other road building materials.
The Case PT240 is the time-tested and proven solution for uniform density and smoothness throughout your full range of compaction requirements.
Simple to operate / highly productiveThe 99 net hp (74 kW), turbocharged engine, gives the Case PT240 pneumatic tire compactor the power-to-perform long passes on soil and provide smooth direction changes during finishing and sealing applications. Standard features include
power-shift transmission, hydrostatic steering, independent axles, and dual (left-and-right-side) operating positions provide optimal operator sight-lines.
Floating and oscillating dual front axles are designed to minimize bridging and maximize compaction performance on uneven surfaces. The four-plus-four tire configuration, with two-inch tire overlap, provides 78 inches of compaction width. Optional thermal aprons provide heat retention to minimize asphalt build-up on the tires.

Case provides a broad range of solutions for all of your compaction needs.
The PT240 central tire inflation system (“air-on-the-run”) ensures proper tire inflation at all times and allows easy alignment of ground contact pressures (GCP) to job requirements. Tire brushes are standard equipment, cocoa mat scrapers are optional for asphalt applications.
Ballast options maximize performanceEasily adjustable operating weight ballasting enables the PT240 compactor to adapt to a full range of soil and asphalt production requirements. The base / unballasted operating weight is 20,525 lb (9,310 kg). Flexible combinations of ballast, or the optional water-proof ballast tank, allow for an operating weight range of up to 52,910 lb (24,000 kg) to meet specific application requirements.
Stays on the job longerThe PT240 compactor includes high-capacity water and fuel tanks to stay on the job for long work days. The corrosion-proof, pressurized water system features a 122-gal (460 L) polyethylene water tank. A 66-gal (250 L) fuel tank is standard.

Comfort, control and convenienceThe PT240 pneumatic tire compactor is designed for operator comfort and convenience. In addition to dual work stations and automotive style controls, the PT240 offers suspension seats with foldable arm rests as standard equipment and an optional cab with heat and air-conditioning for all-weather use.
Multi-function equipment displays include engine RPM, engine hours, fuel rate, system voltage and engine load at current RPM. Standard travel controls include three-speed powershift drive with maximum speed of 12 mph (19.3 km/hr).
