Lavinia’s psychology - Electra complex

The Electra complex shows the sexual desire between the daughter and father.

The Electra complex is closely based on the Greek myth of Orestes - especially on the Aeschylus trilogy Oresteia.

In this play we see that Lavinia has excessive love towards her father.

LAVINIA: You needn't hope to get rid of me that way. I'm not marrying anyone. I've got my duty to Father. (Homecoming, Act 3)
