Green screen

In this shot a green screen is being used, its actually really well done compared to other past student green screen, but I like how it comes on when the music changes and they are using some of Goodwin's theory where they are linking visuals to lyrics when it say ‘power’ and there is lots of powerful fire behind her. I also think the person who made this made it work well because with the variety of scenes it constantly kept you interested. This is the main technical thing that that is used and I think it works well. It isn’t random, but I think they could have added some images appearing at the same time but as a performance video I think it works well.

Dance scenes/ lighting

In the this music video, because the original is based on a lot of dancing I think there was a need to incorporate it. The person that made this has made it, the majority of the video has dance scenes in different locations and they look good from all the different camera angles. From the picture below lighting was used well and I really liked it because it made it seem really maniacal and it dancing was choreographed well which made it seem very realistic.

Visuals going with music/performance

Here they are using another one of Goodwin's theory's, even though in the shot the actress is shown lying down the, shots are coming in quick secession and and each one of these is the actress posing in a different position. The beat is allowing the editor to cut and all the shots work well because at the time of these shots they music isn’t as fast. This is mirrored through clothing and acting, movements become more gentle and the light clothing helps with the lighter brighter feeling. performance in all the shots is very believable and and has been directed to follow the emotions from the lyrics, but when the beater music comes on movements become more aggressive and structured. This is what for me makes it a believable music video, And how performance always looks the best.

Different shots

The picture bellow is showing a extreme close up but is also an over the shoulder of the actresses face but it is also allowing you to se the action in the background which is a dance routine. I think this is effective to the music video because you are constantly reminded of who is the focus of the video, it also allows you to see her extreme make-up which goes with the whole persona she is putting across in the song. The video across is just a simple mid shot , but it is made better by the background and it goes with the theme of the scene which is army. The shot reminds you of a poster of billboard which I think enables you to see a selection of shots and keeps you visually interested.
