Power Service was asked by an Oil and Gas Producer in the Jonah Field/Pinedale Anti-cline to help design, engineer and fabricate a Vapor Recovery Unit (VRU) that would al-low the Producer to recover gas vapors off the Treater Tower and boost them into the sales line.

In the Jonah Field, the sales lines typically op-erate at 400-600 psi of pressure. Therefore, we needed a solution that would allow the customer to boost the gas to these pressures to allow it to enter the line. Treater Tower va-pors, and subsequently the VRU’s suction pressure, range between 0-24 oz.

Power Service’s experience with VRU’s al-lowed our engineering team to design a fully automated system that utilizes a 150hp, Le-Roi Model HG17235VIE, first stage, screw compressor to provide adequate suction pressure to 40hp, second stage GE Gemini Model M301 reciprocating compressor. The GE Gemini compressor gave us the addition-al pressure required to get the low pressure vapors into the high pressure lines.

In addition to the compressors, this VRU uti-lizes an all-in-one 3-core cooler. The cooler, with it’s electrically actuated and fully auto-mated dampeners, constantly coolers the screw compressor oil, interstage gas and the discharged gas before it enters the sales line. Power Service’s ASME Code Vessel Shop fabricated 3 custom vessels for this package. The first stage inlet scrubber utilizes a 4” mist pad to extract moisture from the incoming gas. The second vessel was a coalescing, gas oil separator for the LeRoi Screw com-pressor. Finally, an interstage scrubber was used to remove any liquids from the cooled gas before it entered the GE Gemini recipro-cating compressor.

Please call the Power Service Application Manager, Erik Alberts at 800-743-4774 for more information on this package, or to find a solution to your unique application.

William’s recently concluded a project to install an 80,000 bbl/day NGL pump station at their Opal Wyoming facility. Building on the successful installation of REDA HPS pumps at William’s Echo Springs plant, Power Service along with Schlumberg-er REDA were fortunate enough to be chosen for the project. While reviewing the application and discussing the stringent project timeline we offered our design and fabrication services to Williams.

Our ability to package the equipment, in a controlled environ-ment, allows our customers to save both time and money on the installation. Soon after we began the duty of delivering a fully fabricated package consisting of: (3) 500 HP REDA HPS pumps, engineered skid, instrumentation, ANSI 900# 8” and 10” valves, along with suction, bypass and discharge headers. The total package was 23’W x 40’L x 16’-9”H and weighed in excess of 110,000 lbs. The package was completed and delivered an impressive 10-week timeline.

By working closely with our manufacturers and material suppli-ers, we successfully coordinated delivery of, pumps, motors, structural steel, pipe, and valves. PSI and Williams worked through several iterations and design changes. The hard work by our applications and drafting department along with William’s project engineers enabled us to get the design finalized quickly and moved to fabrication. Our fabrication department then han-dled the arduous task of welding the skid structure, high pres-sure piping, instrumentation, and assembly in a short 6-week time frame.

We pooled the resources of our Fabrication Dept. and ASME Code Shop to handle the tight schedule. The piping was all welded in accordance with ANSI B31.3, which included post weld heat treatment on the large 10” and 14” diameter sections. All of the welding, fabrication and assembly was able to be wit-nessed by William’s inspectors along the way.

At Power Service we pride ourselves on being able to deliver packaged solutions to our customers. Our dedicated team of Applications Engineers, Welders, Fabricators, Technicians , and Draftsman allow us to meet even the most difficult applications and deadlines. This sort of hard work and customer centric at-titude is what sets us apart. We are excited about the project and look forward to continuing our relationship with William’s in the future.

If your next project requires rotating equipment, ASME vessels, or fabrication, we welcome the opportunity to work with you on a solution. Contact us for more information today at (800)743-

Power Service & William’s

“Thank you all for your involvement and great work done on the Williams booster project. We started them yesterday and had mini-mal hiccups. Everyone is very pleased with the quality workman-ship and professionalism that you all have shown throughout the duration of this project. Thanks a million guys!”

Summertime in the Rockies means a lot of busy weekends for Power Service and it’s employees. We are sponsoring co-ed and men’s softball teams. So far it seems to be a winning season! Also, our Vice President, Jake Hagar, is coaching a Youth 12 and Under Traveling Baseball Team that is sponsored by Power Service, Inc. They are called the Casper Styx. These boys travel from Colorado to South Dakota and Nebraska for tournaments.

The Annual Wildcatter’s Golf Tournament just rapped up, July 21-23 at the Casper Country Club. Our employees: Jake Hagar, Rory Alton, Cole Cercy, Chris Cohagan, Micky McCoy, and Jake Miskimins played again this year. Cole Cercy happened to be the top player last year. Lets hope for a repeat this year! We hope you had a chance to stop by our tent between the 15th and 16th holes for some cool refreshments and great fun!

Our service department is always open to service and repair your mo-tor home and trailer generators to ensure safe and worry free summer camping. Give us a call to schedule your routine maintenance and/or repairs!

We hope you are all enjoying the summer and finding time to relax!
