Photographer and lmmaker Hugo Glendinning creates a big-screen projected photo-work with newly commissioned music byJohn Avery (long time collaborator with Forced Entertainment andWendy Houstoun), in a project curated by Nomie Solomon (McGilUniversity Montral). Glendinnings work draws on 30 years ophotographing dance and perormance, while also including workrom throughout his archive. John Averys music both leads andollows the imagery in a series o long leaning notes that oat, andare held, at once in motion and waiting to move. Supported by theBritish Council, USA.

The Symphonic Body is a perormance made entirely rom ges-tures. It is a movement based orchestral work perormed bypeople rom across the Stanord University campus. Instead o

instruments, individuals in this orchestra perorm gestural por-traits based on the motions o their workday. These portraits areindividual dances, custom made or each person, choreographedrom the movements they already do. The particular choreo-graphed gestures themselves become part o a larger movementtapestry within each perormer and within the piece as a whole. Byengaging with this perormance practice members o the Stanordcommunity come together in concert to expand, renew and re-experience the artistry embedded in the everyday.
