On Mar 23, 2011, AICM Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held successfully in Shanghai. 41 representatives from 21 member companies participated , and 36 representatives from 17 member companies got outstanding contribution awards.

PSDC and RAC together organized “Food Packaging Materials” workshop, inviting officials from MOH and MOH/CDC, and got Food Contact Clean-up project update
submitted the comments on 1st batch positive food-packaging resins and additives released by MOH
submitted the position paper on food packaging resins containing BPA
proactively attended MOH experts meeting of Food Related Product Commission
were invited to join the meeting discussing on Regulation & Standard System Framework of Food Contact Materials, by MOH
Automobile Plastics
Attended the start-up meeting of Automotive Recycling Materials Workgroup by CATARC/CAMDS, which draws great attention from vehicle raw materials providers (where CATARC is China Automotive Technology and Research Center, head-quartered in Tian Jin with a branch in Beijing)
Designed questionnaire about CAMDS training, then investigated AICM members, and got more than 15 companies feedback so far. Almost of replied companies need the training or re-training.
Attended the CAMDS training (TF leader and AICM staff), evaluating its effect so as to communicate with CATARC to tail the specific training course meeting with AICM members interest.
Help CATARC to improve CAMDS polymers classification and related terminology phrases.
Construction Plastics
Visited SiChuan Fire Research Institute (SCFRI), under Ministry of Public Security (MPS), meeting China PU Association by coincidence
SCFRI now is revising the standards about fire-control construction materials, “Requirements and Mark on Burning Behavior of Fire Retarding Products in Public Place” (GB 20286), and “Classification for Burning Behavior of Building Materials and Products” (GB 8624)
Witnessed on-site burning test in SCFRI, and exchanged the thoughts on PU, PS and other materials using as out-of-wall heat-insulation material.
Inviting officials from SCFRI to give a speech on workshop in July or August.
Electrical Plastics
Continuously follow up China RoHS Standard Workgroup, under control by MIIT. Only solicited comments on “Requirement of Restricted Substances Management System of EEP”, and no more update so far.
The group will have a 2011 annual meeting in May (10~11) in Xi’An, Work review of 2010; Work priorities and emphasis; Comments review of above-mentioned requirement; China RoHS regulation update; European RoHS update;
And Association of China Quality Management Association of Electronics Industry (CQAE) will also have a same content meeting in Shanghai in May (13-14).
