Hello Ladies! Hard to believe August is already here and it’s time to think about school starting again. Hope y’all had a good summer! We won’t be
having our regular monthly meetings begin until September, however, we will need to call a meeting sometime this month (maybe following worship one Sunday) to discuss what we, as women of the church, need to do for our Celebration of Ministry in September honoring one of our pastors, Rev. Gilbert Rowell. We will be having a special service in the evening and the session has requested light refresh-ments. I will plan a time for a short meeting as soon as I get more details. Have a blessed month! Tammy Bassett, WM President Upcoming Events: September 4 - Women’s Ministries Kick-off! October 13 - Women’s Ministries Annual Presbyterial Meeting November 2-3 - First Presbyterial Retreat and Annual Meeting

August 17-19th, come all days or just Saturday for our sessions and activities along with a family cook out!
Friday night, we’ll gather together around a bonfire for an intro to the weekend, singing, s’mores, and a time of prayer.
Saturday - Family Fun! Take a walk around the lake, fishing, frisbee golf, basketball, or shopping in downtown Hendersonville; everyone loves Mast General Store! Session 1 at 1 pm, Cook Out at the Nibble Nook at 5 pm, Session 2 at 7 pm. The Elders will lead our sessions. For our newest members, if you want to know more about Bonclarken, just ask another church member or deacon. This is an annual tradition at Providence. It’s a great time of fellowship with one another in the beautiful mountains of Flat Rock, NC.
Family Cookout - bring what you would like to be cooked on the grill for your family, and a side dish to share. All paper products will be provided. The facilities we are staying at do not have kitchens, so consider that when planning. However, there is a stovetop, micro-wave, and refrigerator for our use in the meeting room. Lodging:

September is CAM Month! During the month we will be collecting canned goods and non-perishable items to donate to the food pantry at Crisis Assistance Ministry (CAM) of Gaston County. Next time you go grocery shopping, pick up a few extra items and bring them to church with you and place them in the blue bin in Tammy’s office. There are shopping bags along with lists there also if you need one! (No corn or green beans please, they have an abundance!)
Heart & Home Groups will begin again!

Pastor Gilbert served at Providence from 2004-2012. The Missions Committee is leading this Celebration in memory of our pastor and friend. Friends, family, colleagues, and past church members are invited. A painting of Bonclarken, a special place to Gilbert, will be placed in the church in his memory at this celebration.
