notification.” MARABOU – INVENTORY Marabou is a beautiful 72ft overall classic, long-range, ocean-going motor cruiser, designed by highly-regarded naval architect Edwin Monk in Seattle, USA, and built by Peter Bracken at Kurnell, Sydney. She’s a very strong timber boat, weighing more than 60,000kg, with spotted gum frames and planking to the waterline and splined Oregon planking above. The bottom is fully copper-sheathed and the decks are teak, as are the rails and all exterior trim. Inside, you’ll find more teak, finished to a very high standard. Launched about 1973, she provides ample accommodation for eight in a full-beam master stateroom with king-size island bed and three twin-guest staterooms. Powered by twin Detroit Diesel Allison 8V-71N 300hp diesel engines . These were blue printed and rebuilt in 1988 and offer a top speed that sits above 10kts, with an economical cruise using 35lt/h attainable at 8kts. With fuel tanks that hold 11,119lt, an effective range (at 90 per cent of fuel tank capacity) is just over 2280nm.
