A Message from the President, Mr Don Lethbridge On behalf of the Taroom Show Society, competitors and exhibitors, I would like to thank all sponsors and trophy donors of the 2017 show. Without your support we could not run such a successful and well supported show. Some sponsors have been contributing to the show for over 10 years, whist some are joining us for the first time this year. We thank-you for your donation no matter how big or small. For 112 years our show has been delivering positive social and economic impacts to our community.

Mrs Jessica Oliver Trophy, for best marble cake, junior & senior Mrs Janet Phelps Trophy, for Most Points for Confectionery, junior & senior A FEATURE CAKE MUST BE COOKED TO THE FOLLOWING RECIPE.

MARBLE CAKE: Ingredients: 185g sugar, 1 ½ cups SR flour, 1/2 cup milk, few drops vanilla essence, 125g butter, 2 eggs, 2 tsp. cocoa, hot water, pinch salt. Method Place all ingredients, except cocoa and water, into a small mixing bowl and mix at low speed until combined. Then beat on high for 4 minutes only. Divide mixture into three, colour one pink, one chocolate (by combining cocoa and water and mixing to form a paste) and leave one white. Line the bottom of a 20cm round tin. Place mixture in alternate spoonfuls and run a knife through mixture to give a marbled effect. Bake in a 190 oven for 25 to 40 minutes or until cooked. When cool, ice on top with pale pink icing. Entries not accepted by the Stewards are to be removed from the

grounds before Judging commences. All cattle will be mouthed and weighed on arrival at the yards. Any

disputations to be resolved within one hour of weighing. Cattle will be colour ear tagged and paint branded to indicate teeth and

weight. All cattle to be in the yards by 2pm Sunday, 30 April, 2017. The Committee will endevour to feed cattle but watering of stock is the

responsibility of Exhibitor. Entries for Classes 2000 – 2011 MUST be accompanied by a completed

and signed FEED DECLARATION FORM, enclosed in this schedule. All entries must be accompanied by a current National Vendor Declara-

tion (Cattle) and Waybill, edition April 2013. Cattle may be entered in one class only and can compete in one class

only. All Pairs are considered a single exhibit Cattle must remain in the yards until after the Grand Parade on

Tuesday, 2 May, 2017. Entries into Prime and Store classes must be finalised by 6pm Sunday,

30 April, 2017. Points from all Prime and Store class entries will be tallied to determine

GENERAL CONDITIONS REGARDING THE PAVILION INDUSTRIES

& THE FARM AND PRODUCE SECTIONS

In all cases the competitor must be an amateur. Entry closing date is the date most suitable for the entries to be received by, as in all cases, tickets have to be prepared and books written up. Entry fee in all sections will be $0.50 unless otherwise stated. Prize money will be First $3, Second $2 in all sections, unless otherwise stated. Where a trophy is donated for first prize, second prize money only. This section has been compiled early to assist you with your show entries and the association would be grateful if you would comply by having your entries in EARLY. All work MUST be new not previously laundered. Articles may be suitably mounted to enable judges to inspect reverse side of work In all cases, presentation of an article WILL be considered by the judges. Bottles polished with clean lids are more attractive. Soiled work in any section MAY be disqualified. All exhibits that have won first prize in a Taroom show are not permissible and, if recognised, will be DISQUALIFIED. Purchased items will not be allowed as a competitive entry. If an entry is not worthy of an award no prize will be given. Entries may be moved to a more suitable class at the discretion of the chief steward. ALL CARE IS TAKEN OF ENTRIES BUT NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ACCEPTED. NOMINATIONS CLOSE AT 5PM ON SUNDAY, 30th April, 2017 with the Secretary of this section, who would appreciate it if nominations were in as early as possible.
