Codes call for bottom air make-up ventilation and a listed gas detector within 12 inches of the lowest point for flammables. Detectors are often placed in front of the exhaust ventilation grills and on the process equipment near the potential leak points. CO 2 is monitored in the waist to face zone as it is a breathing hazard but heavier than air. Local annunciation may be employed and gas detection alarm contacts interlock with other devices and AC power to shutdown the process if an alarm is higher than 25% LFL. Ventilation fans are activated by a gas alarm of 10% LFL or higher. Indoor gas storage and solvent recovery areas require their own gas detectors and ventilation. COST-EFFECTIVE ADVANCED GAS DETECTOR

SensAir is based on decades of proven gas detector

design. The result is a performance certified advanced product

with greatly enhanced capabilities, including an easy to use

non-intrusive user interface, clear LED display and intuitive

configuration and maintenance functions, which are accessed

with a magnetic stylus.

Transmitter enclosure material options are offered along

with horizontal or vertical conduit mounting and accessories for

duct mounting, sample draw and remote gassing.

Communication options have been expanded to include

Modbus®, BACnet® and Alarm relays in addition to 3-wire,

4-20mA. More than 25 gas sensor types are offered.

Combustibles, Toxics

and Oxygen Gas Detection

GAS DETECTION SYSTEM CONTROLLERS

Sensidyne offers Digital Gas Detection Controllers to power,

display and provide output and alarm functions that are required by the

safety systems user and engineers. Input capacity ranges from 4, 8

and 16 gas detectors to a maximum of 64. Signal output protocols

include discrete 4-20mA, RS 485 Modbus®, Ethernet and contacts.

The controllers are hazardous area approved for installation in a

Class I, Division 2 classified environment and to receive inputs from

gas detectors in a Class I, Division 1 hazardous (classified) area.

Alarm relays are provided for annunciation and mitigation

measures such as fans and process shutdown. Fail-safe operation is

standard with supervisory alarm notifications for Fire and Building

Automation systems. An alarm acknowledgement function is provided
