COMPANY PROFILE

PRO-TEK was established in 2000 as cathodic protection engineering and related

equipment manufacturing company. However, the background of the company goes

back to early 90s. Mr. Caner KILIC, Founder and the General Manager of PRO-TEK,

had worked for three different cathodic protection companies as a corrosion engineer

and founder / partner as well since 1992. These companies had completed several

important design and installation projects in Turkey. Our major customers are

BOTAŞ, İSKİ, İDO, ASKİ, EGO, NATO, POAŞ, TPAO, KGM, İSDEMİR, İLBANK,

TEAŞ, MOBILE/EXXON... We have completed a lot of cathodic protection design and

installations of thousands of kilometers fresh water pipelines, natural gas main

transportation and city distribution pipelines, petroleum pipelines, internal and

external cathodic protection of petroleum and LPG storage tanks, jetties and jetty

piles like 17 jetties of Istanbul Fast Ferries Co., Inc., bridges, sewages, steel

reinforced concrete pipelines. We have also designed and applied remote control

systems for some of these projects like cathodic protection of Golden Horn Bridge in

Istanbul.

Due to expansion of the cathodic protection business in Turkey, PRO-TEK’ s product

line is also expanded such as the manufacture of insulating flanges, sleeves and

gaskets, test posts, line markers (for BOTAS pipelines), adjustable resistors, data

loggers, transformer rectifier units, reference electrodes, polarization cells, cathodic

protection kits for underground tanks of LPG stations etc.

PRO-TEK is now TURKEY’ s leading cathodic protection company with the

capabilities both for cathodic protection project and equipment design, manufacturing

and installation quality and capacity, as well as research and development activities

with more than 10 years’ experience. PRO-TEK have ISO9001:2008 certification and

all operations of the company is performed on the basis of ISO standards.

CATHODIC PROTECTION SYSTEMS

Cathodic protection systems, often used in conjunction with an appropriate coating system, prevent corrosion by causing direct current to flow from discrete electrodes known as 'anodes' through the surrounding environment (sea water, sediment, soil etc) onto the structure to be protected. This direct current overcomes the naturally occurring current generated as a result of the corrosion process and renders the structure cathodic - hence the name 'cathodic protection'

There are two methods of applying cathodic protection. The first is the impressed current method, involving discrete, relatively inert anodes isolated from the structure and connected to a direct current power source The second method involves the use of galvanic anodes, made from specially formulated alloys, which are directly attached to the structure to be protected As these anodes are more electronegative than the structure, a galvanic cell is created, which generates the necessary protective current.

IMPRESSED CURRENT SYSTEMS

PRO-TEK's engineering expertise includes the design of complete impressed current protection systems and advice on the most appropriate materials and equipment Detailed design and supply of complete systems can be undertaken on a turnkey basis or as a job specific materials supply/consultancy service.

Impressed current anodes can be produced in a wide and growing range of materials. For most environments there is no clear cut choice of material, however, the most commonly used anode types are silicon iron, mixed metal oxide, platinized titanium and graphite. PRO-TEK can supply systems using any of these materials or many others.

Typical applications for impressed current systems include buried structures such as pipelines, cable conduits, tanks, piling structures and foundations; non-buried structures such as jetties; water and sewage treatment plants, pipeline interiors, water tanks, condensers and heat exchangers.

GALVANIC ANODE SYSTEMS

PRO-TEK's engineering expertise includes the design of complete galvanic anode systems and advice on the most appropriate materials.

Of all the galvanic anode materials available to the corrosion engineer, magnesium anodes have the highest driving potential with respect to steel structures. For this reason, in higher resistivity electrolytes such as soil and fresh or brackish water, magnesium anodes are generally used in preference to zinc or aluminum alloys.

Magnesium galvanic anode systems are particularly suitable for external protection of buried pipelines, storage tanks, tank bases and immersed moorings, and for internal protection of storage tanks, condensers and treatment plant.

PROTEK supplies all the necessary cathodic protection equipments to be used in the cathodic protection projects by either manufacturing in it’ s structure or by sub-contracting companies or importing from the prime international manufacturer companies.

These are internationally recognized suppliers whose products are manufactured in accordance with the relevant standards and are subject to our Quality Assurance evaluation. PROTEK manufacture in accordance with their own specifications obeying in accordance with Clients Specific requirements codes and standards.

SACRIFICIAL ANODES

Magnesium Anodes

Magnesium Anodes are commonly used in cathodic protection systems , as Mg metal have more negative potential than other galvanic materials. PRO-TEK, represents well known manufacturers in the world and imports high quality and certified Mg packed/bare anodes from these companies. PRO-TEK, makes cable connection and packages them with backfill materials for its own use and supplying to the other companies in the industry.

Zinc Anodes

PRO-TEK supply high quality extruded or cast Zinc anodes at various shape and dimensions according to customers request. All anodes are available with full chemical analysis manufacturer’s ISO certification. Anodes are available as bare castings or fully packaged. Aluminum Anodes

A wide range of shapes and sizes of Sacrificial Anode stocks are held in warehouse. This enables us to sell anodes at very competitive prices. All anodes are available with full chemical analysis manufacturer’s ISO certification. Anodes are available as bare castings or fully packaged. Mg Extruded Rod Anode Extruded anodes have high current to weight ratio and are suitable to be used in where a small diameter anode is required to give enough current for cathodic protection. We supply extruded anodes in both high potential (Mg-Mn alloy) and low potential (AZ31 alloy). Our extruded alloys typically suitable for all kinds of water heaters, water storage tanks and in prepolarization of offshore structures etc.

IMPRESSED CURRENT ANODES

Mixed Metal Oxide Coated Titanium Anodes Available in tubular, strip, wire or mesh forms. Platinised Titanium & Niobium Anodes Platinised Titanium, Platinised Niobium in various shapes and configurations. Graphite Anodes Linseed impregnated anodes in a standard range of sizes. Silicon Iron Anodes Single or double ended, with and without chrome, solid or tubular Fe-Si anodes are available. Flange Insulation Gasket Kits Full and Raised face, Neoprene Faced Phenolic and asbestos and special materials for High Temperature applications. The "RT J" and "TROJAN/Gask-O.Seal" type gasket kits are also available. Test/Marker Posts & Bond Boxes A wide range of standard posts / boxes in concrete, fiberglass, steel and plastic together with manufacture to the customers own specification. Coke Breeze & Backfill Materials Coke breeze backfill in various grades, bentonite, Sodium Sulphate (anhydrite), Gypsium etc. are available. Thermo Weld Equipment PROTEK supply the full range of charges, moulds and cartridges for cable attachment to steel and iron piping. Pin-Brazing Equipment PROTEK is authorized distributor of SAFETRAK- Baavhammar AG in Turkey. We supply both manual and automatic Pin Brazing Guns, the special studs and other consumable materials and accessories as well. Electrical Cables PROTEK supply wide range of cathodic protection cables for special CP applications. Electrical Accessories PROTEK provide wide range of Cable Joint Kits, Junction Boxes, Electrical Fittings, and Earthing Equipment for cathodic protection process according to the needs of the customers. We also supply Polarization Cell and Spark Gaps for stray current protection.

Transformer Rectifier Units/Bond & Test Boxes PROTEK supply the standard range or ex-proof air and oil cooled Transformer Rectifier Units and all kinds of Test Boxes together with special manufacture to the customer's own specifications. Reference Electrodes Cu/CuSO4, Ag/AgCl, Zinc and Hg/Hg2Cl2 Reference Electrodes are available in our

stocks. Instrumentation PROTEK supply Potential, current and resistance measurement, Computer Data Loggers, Remote Control Cathodic Protection System, Remote Control Computer PC meters.
