The pulmonary vascular resistance declined in all but two patients after 3 months of treatment with iloprost aerosol, followed by a further decline in all

but six patients after 12 months. When compared with base-line values, pulmonary vascular resistance was lower after 12 months of treatment with

aerosolized iloprost in 19 of 24 patients.
