under the aegis of Maa Saraswati Educational Society & Social Welfare Trust (Regd.) Chandigarh.

and technical fests organized by different institutes. Our students Aditya Goel, CSE-8th semester

secured IIIrd position in Face Identification System live project at Shri Sidhi Vinayak Group of

institutions, Bilaspur on 10th & 11th April, 2013 and Mr. Abhishek Alok of MBA-4th semester

participated in a Business Plan Contest at IIT, Bombay.

SPORTS MEETMIET organized its 5th annual sports meet on 21st & 22nd March 2013. Various sports like

athletics, table tennis, cricket, football, badminton etc. were organized. The sports meet was

inaugurated by Sh. J.C. Bansal, Chairman of the Governing Body which was followed by the march

past by the students of each stream. Students displayed their sportsmanship in each event.

Electronics engineering team emerged as a winner scoring maximum points. Mr. Mandeep Singh,

D.P.E. was the overall incharge to organize the event.

Mr. Chhatarpal ( Member of Management) encouraged the students with cash prizes. In the end

Dr. M.S.Khanchi, Principal presented a vote of thanks.

PEHCHAAN-AN INTER COLLEGE FEST 2013As a regular activity, the institute organized Pehchaan-2 an Inter College Competition on 8th

march, 2013 in which approximately 1000 students participated from 15 colleges in different

activities i.e. Rangoli Competition, Painting Competition, Dance Competition, Quiz Contest,

Instrument Playing Contest, Ad mad show, Nail Art, Collage making etc. The main organizers of

the event were Mr. Manpreet Singh and Ms. Khushboo Sharma, Asstt. Professors of Business

Management Department.

This programme was organized on the occasion of the International Woman's Day. This

competition provides a platform to students to enhance their personality and skills. Sh. A.D.Gandhi

eminent social worker and Chartered accountant of Ambala Cantt., was the Chief Guest on this

S.N. Chaturvedi, Director of the Institute. In the end the Chief

Guest gave the prizes to the winners. The chief guest also

different departments. Dr. M.S. Khanchi, Principal of the Institute

presented a vote of thanks.

GUEST LECTURES AND INDUSTRY VISITSGuest lectures are being regularly arranged from Academicians of

NIT(KU), Kurukshetra University, other neighboring Institutions

and also from Industrialists to expose the students with the

present State of Art in different disciplines of Science &

Technology at national and international levels.

Shivani is currently working as a Group Head under the

designation BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (BDM).

Throughout her career earlier in Educational field and now as

BDM with MIET, she has maintained highest performance

standards within a diverse range of managerial and administrative

functions. She has stream lined the operations and facilitated the

implementation of new advertising and promotional strategies

that has significantly increased the Institute's profile.

TECKRAZE 2012To encourage the students to adopt engineering as a profession a Teckraze-

2, 2012 a regular annual activities of the Institute was organized on 27th

Nov, 2012. An exhibition of different live projects of engineering &

management were displayed. Sh. J.C. Bansal, Chairman of the Institute

inaugurated the exhibition. As many as 1200 students from different

neighbouring schools visited the exhibition. An aptitude test and a Quiz

Contest was also organized for the students. A cultural programme was

also organized on the occation. The winners were awarded with Tablets &

Mobile Phones by the Chairman. In the end, Dr. S.N.Chaturvedi, Director

of the Institute presented a vote of thanks.

ROBO TAGSWe proudly announce “ROBO TAGS” the official Robotics Club of MIET

for carrying out all the future robotics activities in MIET. The club will be

working on different robotics & electronics projects varying from the

projects and tutorials for the beginners to the expert level. This club will

arrange lectures and advanced level projects and workshops from different

industries and IITs.

IIT GUWAHATI CERTIFIED ROBOTIC WORKSHOP AT MIETA two day workshop on I- ROBOTRICKS has been organized in ECE dept

on 14th and 15th March by Pro-Group INDIA in association with IIT-

GUWAHATI. A total 50 students were short listed for the workshop. The

workshop had four sessions including concept, design, assembling,

programming and fault finding of different intelligent robotics kit. All over

India, a total 33 nodal centre has been selected and MIET is one of them.

On the concluding day a championship has been organized and three teams

were selected to further participate at National Level IITians championship.

The deptt. also organizes a Techno-Champ National Level Competition on

15th march, 2013. IIT has identified MIET as a Zonal center for National

Level Competition “Techno-Champ”. Three groups of ECE Deptt.
