Siblings (brothers and sisters) includes children with
brothers and sisters (including step-brothers or sistersresiding at the same address) o statutory school age, living
at the same address, in attendance at the same school, or a
school on the same site, on the date o admission.
Twins or triplets (multiple births) - where a amily o
twins or triplets request admission and i one sibling has beenoered the last place the excepted pupil rule comes in and
the other twin/triplets are oered a place.
Live In all categories Live means the childs permanent
home address. A child is normally regarded as living with a
parent or guardian and we will use the parent or guardians
address or admission purposes. You cannot lodge a child
with a riend or relation in order to gain a place at a school.
For admission purposes only one address can be used as
a childs permanent address. When a child lives with more
than one parent/carer, at dierent addresses, we will use
the preerence expressed by the parent/carer at the addresswhere the child lives the majority o the time during the
school week as the main place o residence.
Random Allocation this is only to be used when the
last place to be oered would all into one o the two
categories above ie, children living in a block o fats or
children who live equidistant rom the school using straight
line distance criterion. An independent person will be used
to make the random selection.
Straight line distance - Distance is measured in a
straight line rom a childs home address to the school.
Measurements are calculated using six-gure National GridCo-ordinates taken rom the National Land and Property
Gazetteer. This grid reerence reers to a point that alls
within the permanent building structure corresponding to
the address. The boundary o the building structure or the
address is derived rom Ordnance Surveys MasterMap. For
smaller, residential properties the grid reerence marks a
point near the centre o the building. For larger properties,
like schools with, or example, multiple buildings and large
grounds, the grid reerence relates to a point inside the main
addressable building structure. The distance calculated is
accurate to within 1 metre.
