Chairman’s MessageMy humble message to our students is to always keep in mind the

golden rule that there is no substitute of hard work because

sincere hard work is the mother of success and luck is only a

distant relative.

The creation of a pearl inside an oyster is a miracle in Nature. I

sincerely hope that taking a cue from this lustrous evolution in

Nature, our teaching, and non-teaching staff would nurture and

transform our students in such a manner that they not only achieve

excellence in technical education but also come up as excellent

human being in life..

Principal’s MessageIt is the trust and faith which has developed over decade of excellence that the SYNERGY Institute of

Engineering & Technology has established itself as “THE MODERN DAY GURUKUL” and a preferred

destination' for the fresh young minds coming out of the shells of schooling and parenting. It is the time to

come out and take a leap towards one's career interests and areas of strength. I, on behalf of SYNERGY ,

extend a very warm welcome to you in our college where I can ensure you of quality education of par

excellence. This college caters to the specific needs of students by imparting education in the field of

Engineering which is, in fact, the future of any country's development and economy. Our college has the

distinction of being accredited by “NBA-National Board of Accreditation” .

The college has various clubs and societies to facilitate students in acquiring and developing their talent.

Some of the clubs are: Dramatics and Fine Arts Club, Dance Club, Robotics Club, Language Club, Debate

Club, Film Club, Literary Club, Mountaineering and Trekking Club, Photography Club, Music Club and

Yoga Clubs Etc. The institute constantly inspires its students to actively involve and organize Technical,

Cultural Festivals and Symposiums like SYNFEST, SYNTECH , Roboclub etc.

Over the years, majority students of our college have been selected for campus placement by companies

like Wipro Tech.TCS, Mahindra Satyam, ADP, JSW, JSPL, OCL, SANGHI CEMENTS. ZYCUS, RELIANCE ,

JMC Projects, Maruti, TATA Motors, Hindusthan Motors, HCL, IMCO Alloys, POWERDEAL, POSCO and

EXILANT Technology to name a few.

We are also proud to declare that our college is a NO RAGGING, NO SMOKING ZONE with a picturesque

landscape giving a feeling of “Home Away from Home”. Each of our staff consider themselves as the

parents of our students and address their concerns through Proctorial Systems. These are some small

Academically we progress through constantly assisting our students by extra classes, 24 Hrs WI-FI Internet

Connectivity , Personality Development training module, Sprawling library with e-Resources, Exam-Crams

and we leave no stone unturned for making our students Industry ready.

No academic institute is made with cement and bricks. Of course, they help in constructing the outer

structure of an organization but the real pillars of strength are its students and faculty. I appreciate our

students who have shown exemplary discipline throughout these years and our faculty and non-teaching

staff who have earnestly worked to make this college an organization to reckon within a few years of its

establishment. I also acknowledge the effort of our chairman and the college Governing Body for their

The

National Board of Accreditation - AICTE, New Delhi, has accredited four departments namely Computer Science & Engineering,

Electronics & Tele Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering, for a period of three years

was founded by a group of Technical and Science Entrepreneurs in the month of

August, 1999. The institute is managed by Shivani Educational & Charitable Trust and registered under Society Act. AICTE (All India

Council for Technical Education). Synergy is a college of repute in this country and National Board of Accreditation has accredited the

courses offered in this institute.

The college has earned name and fame for its excellent, extra curricular activities and discipline of the students to develop mental

activities. Since 2009 M.Tech. Courses have started in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics &

Telecommunication Engineering, Electrical Engineering & Mechanical Engineering, which have been approved by AICTE. The college

conducts several training programmes, seminars & conferences for teachers and students. In the last couple of years a large number

of outgoing students of the college have been getting employment in industries through campus interviews.

The institute offers in the following disciplines: Quality education has been our

watchword from the beginning and so we were awarded with ISO 9001-2000 certification from NQA-QSR accreditation body, an

international hallmark of excellence. Three departments of this institute are also accredited by Institute of Engineers (India).

Very

few private engineering colleges in Odisha have such distinction.

.

SYNERGY draws its strength, commitment and inspiration from Shivani Educational & Charitable Trust, which was founded in 1998 by

a like-minded group of eminent citizens from Cuttack & Dhenkanal drawn from various socio-economic and academic profiles. The

trustees include eminent Educational entrepreneurs, Technocrats, Bureaucrats, Industrialists and Management personnel and social

workers. The Trust’s mission is to carry out various educational and charitable activities in the state of Orissa, particularly in the

backward and industrial belt of Dhenkanal & surroundings. The prime objective of the trust is to promote quality technical education in

order to make students ethically strong and technically sound through its dedicated faculty and staff and thereby improve the quality

of human life. The promoters have all along dreamt, worked towards this goal and contributed significantly to the development of

Synergy, Dhenkanal. Like Synergy Dhenkanal the Synergy Institute of Technology, Phulankhara, Bhubaneswar took shape in the year

2009, which is a sister concern of Synergy, Dhenkanal.

Physical infrastructure consists of spacious lecture halls, multimedia classrooms, tutorial rooms, well-equipped laboratories, seminar

hall, air-conditioned conference hall, automated central library, digital library, language laboratory and a campus with high-speed

Internet connectivity. The academic objectives are achieved through regular classroom delivery, on-line course delivery and e-

learning. Digital course materials from courses have been uploaded into the institute intranet called

. This serves as an extra learning resource for the students besides the classroom notes and handouts.

The institute follows the curriculum prescribed by BPUT, which is consistent with the model curriculum suggested by the AICTE. The

present curricula have a broad based core science and technically component, departmental compulsory courses, professional

electives and project dissertation.

Synergy Institute of Engineering & Technology by virtue of its cutting edge quality of education, the uniqueness of its teaching-learning

process and the continuous emphasis on the all-round development of the students, has created a niche for itself. A harmonious

integration of valued traditions with modern outlook is the guiding principle behind the development of the academic environment of

the Institute.

Besides the regular curricular activities, the students are exposed to a number of other programmes like group discussions, interactive

seminars and brain storming sessions - all designed to expand and bring about qualitative growth. Through such programmes, the

students are constantly motivated and encouraged to develop their leadership qualities and improve their communication abilities.

There is a constant endeavor on the part of the members of faculty and staff of this institute to help the students in this grooming

process.

Although, the assessment of the students’ performance is generally guided by the prevalent regulations of the University, the

respective course teacher also adopts a continuous evaluation system independently in the Institute.

Members of faculty are available beyond class hours for clarification of doubts; problem solving sessions. Remedial classes are

also held.

Student seminars are organized in each department to improve their innovative and presentation skills.

Seminars/Workshops on recent developments in technology & management are frequently organized with speakers from

academia and industry.

Students from all engineering colleges are also encouraged to participate in various quiz programmes and summer courses on

latest technology organized by the institute.

Collaborations are in place with various industrial houses to provide on-campus and off-campus summer/winter training to the

students.

The language lab provides training in spoken English. Mock interviews are organized so that students can face their job interviews

confidently.

Periodical meetings between students & trustees, teachers & parents/guardians are held to get feedback regarding teaching and
