I-Historical Overview
Created in August 1986 for the central region of Tunisia (Sousse, Monastir, Mahdia and Kairouan) under the name "University of Monastir" 1991 : the name was changed to « University of the Center » referring to its location at the center of the country Then, in September 2004 the name has been changed into University of Sousse.

The University of Sousse is a public organization that provides courses for approximately 25655 students regularly registered for the academic year 2016-2017. These courses are in fundamental sciences, technical, agronomic, medical, paramedical, Legal, economic and management, sciences, arts and crafts, arts and humanities. The University of Sousse has joined and implemented the new LMD system of academic training (License, Master, and Doctorate).
