CHAPTER I

PREFACE

This fieldtrip is as a part of the Society of Exploration Geophysicist University

of Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Yogyakarta Student Chapter Program. The event

is planned to enhance undergraduate student’s knowledge about Geophysics Field

Overview in Geothermal Exploration. This program is also aimed to improve field skills

of SEG SC’ member and non-member. This event also made us know practically aboutGeophysics Activity in Geothermal Exploration as our subject at lecturer activity such

as intoductory of Geothermal, Electromagnetic, Geomagnetic, Gravity, etc.

CHAPTER II

INTRODUCTION

II.1. Background

A geophysical engineering student is expected to be able to work and to

contribute both on the field and in the laboratory. The basic principles and the

theories has been well-taught both in the laboratory and classroom. In order to

apply those theories and to support personal capacity, a field trip has to be held, as

an effort to show the application of those principles on the field. As a pioneer of

colleger's organization in petroleum geoscientists, Society of Exploration

Geophysicist UPN Student Chapter tries to create a place, where collegers' passion

and potency in the world of geothermal energy can be channeled in an agenda of

Star Energy : Geothermal Field trip.

II.2. Event Management

This event is held by Society of Exploration Geophysicist University of

Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran” Student Chapter (SEG UPN SC). SEG UPN SC

is an organization under the Colleger's Assemblage of Geophysical Engineering

UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, which consists of Geophysical Engineering students,

actively developing both in research and learning of geosciences, oil, and gas.

II.3. Base of Event

This event is held as a result from demands that came from the students of

Geophysical Engineering UPN "Veteran" Yogyakarta, which driven by curiosity of

having basic introduction, applications of fundamental concepts, and advanced

engineering of Geophysics in geothermal.

II.4. Purpose and Objectives

To enrich field knowledge especially to understand about Geophysics Acitivity

in Geothermal Exploration.

To introduce of how things work, particularly in the processes of exploration,

exploitation, and production first-hand on the field.

To extend knowledge related to geothermal energy.

To compare all the theoretical aspect that student got in the reality in the field.

II.5. Aim of the Event

This field trip will be attended by students from Geophysical Engineering

University of Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran" Yogyakarta, which are the members of

SEG UPN Student Chapter Yogyakarta, with the amount of attendants of 50 persons,

including a lecturer of guidance.

FIELD TRIP SYSTEMATICS AND EXECUTIONS

III.1. SERIES OF ACTIVITIES

III.1.1 Form, Time and Place of Event

This event is formed in an introduction of geophysical applications

in geothermal, at the geothermal field of Wayang Windu for a day.

The event will be held at December 21, 2014 inside the area of

Wayang Windu’s Geothermal Field, Star Energy.

III.1.2. Event Attendees

This event will be attended by 49 students and a lecturer of guidance,

from The Department of Geological and Geophysical Engineering, Faculty

of Mineral's Technology, University of Pembangunan Nasional "Veteran"

Yogyakarta.

III.1.3 Rundown of the Event

Day 1 (December 21, 2014)

19.00 – 19.30 : Gathering of attendees in the Campus of UPN “V” YK

19.30 – 20.00 : Pre-departure briefing

20.00 – 08.00 : Trip to Geothermal Field of Wayang Windu


08.00 : Arrival to destination

08.00-09.00 : Greetings from Star Energy and SEG representative

09.00-12.00 : Star Energy facilities visitation

12.00-13.00 : Break time

13.00-16.00 : Geothermal field stop-site

16.00-16.30 : Momento awarding

16.30 : Return trip to Yogyakarta
