1.0 Introduction Smart lifestyle is a technology that has been well known to all human life. This is because there is around us using smart lifestyle such as remote to control home appliances, using body movements as controller and others. In this modernity, there are many ideas to develop a modern and smart lifestyle. For the project design of the smart lifestyle, we found one of system to help user to make their life easier which is smart mailbox. Smart mailbox is the one of facility that helps user to check their mailbox and tell the user. Smart mailbox is using the entire new technology device which is Bluetooth and application. 2.0 Project Description Smart Mailbox is the notification system on the user mailbox. This smart mailbox will give the notification for the user to take their letter in mailbox, at the same time user can clean their mailbox from the mail advertising. In this smart mailbox, we are using limit switch to detect a letter in the mailbox. Other than that, Bluetooth also will be use to give a notification to user when it arrive at certain distance. Finally we use application software to install in their device for the notification receives. For this system, we can save users time, energy and friendly eco system. 3.0 Technology Selection I. 1.0 Introduction

2.0 Project Description
Smart Mailbox is the notification system on the user mailbox. This smart mailbox will give
the notification for the user to take their letter in mailbox, at the same time user can clean
their mailbox from the mail advertising. In this smart mailbox, we are using limit switch to
detect a letter in the mailbox. Other than that, Bluetooth also will be use to give a notification
to user when it arrive at certain distance. Finally we use application software to install in
their device for the notification receives. For this system, we can save users time, energy and
friendly eco system.
3.0 Technology Selection
I. Applications
As we know, application is now known worldwide and their function is
more attractive, applicable, multitasking and many facilities in there. For
this mailbox project we use application as the mediation to users.
Therefore, it will help to give a notice to user that the letter is waiting to
pick up or collect.
II. Bluetooth
Bluetooth is a wireless communications system intended to replace the
cables connecting many types of devices from mobile phones and headsets
to hear monitors and medical equipment. We all know that, Bluetooth is
not too far distance communication. There have a specific range of
distance. Besides that, Bluetooth will help this mailbox to connect with
user. Which is it will connect to user’s device and get a notification from
applications that are build.

III. Limit switch
The limit switch is used to determine the proximity of equipment (the
Applications section illustrates a few examples). The limit switch can output only
two signals: ON and OFF. It outputs a digital ON signal when the lever arm is
depressed and a digital signal OFF when the lever arm is not depressed (see
Figure 2 below). External forces, such as collisions, produce a digital ON signal,
which remains ON until the lever arm is released.

In our project the connection between the limit switch and the Intel Galileo board is at the pin
9 and the ground pin.
