We need to make a prop list so that we know exactly what we will need for when we shoot our film. This will also give us a rough idea of how much everything will cost us and if we need to get help for funding these items.

As we are going to have dentist chairs and other equipment down in the basement, we will need to purchase items to make the basement look as real as possible which will add to the tension and will make the short film draw the attention of the audience.

Dentist Tools

The dental chair is key to the basement scene but it does cost a lot of money. This is the cheapest item I found and it is just a basic dental chair. I will meet with my partner and discuss what we should do. We could also just get an ordinary chair and make it look like this to lower costs.

We will also need weapons such as guns and knives which will be put up on shelves within the basement and covered in blood. The blood isn’t an issue as we can get fake blood from anywhere and it won’t cost much either. We will have to ask our teachers if they can help us with getting guns as props for our short film but the knives aren’t an issue as we can get them from our homes as well but just have them laid down as if they are a killing knife rather than a kitchen knife.

Weapons

Garden tools will also be needed to add to the effect and tension we will try to portray in the basement scene. With these, we can find at our homes and if not, I’m sure we can purchase them from local supermarkets.

In our script we have mentioned that we will use chainsaws and syringes or injections within the basement scene. Personally, I think this will add to the tension we will be building throughout the whole movie and definitely follows the codes and conventions of our genre. We will again have to ask our teachers to help us with these props.
