Description of what the film project will include by location/scene

SCENE 1: EXT. Farm (dawn) - Joel lies on his stomach to take pictures of birds. Roy walks toward Joel. Joel rises and talks with Roy.

SCENE 2: EXT. Chicken Coop (morning) - Joel and Roy enter the chicken coop. Joel takes pictures as Sarah enters and almost drops a bucket.

SCENE 3: INT. Roy’s House (morning) - Joel takes pictures as Roy brings in coffee. The two talk and drink the coffee.

SCENE 4: EXT. Woods (day) - Joel takes pictures as he and Roy walk through the woods.

SCENE 5: EXT. Woods (day) - Joel and Roy walk through the woods. Roy stops and kneels.

SCENE 6: EXT. Woods (day) - Joel and Roy talk followed by a coughing fit by Roy.

SCENE 7: EXT. Woods (dusk) - Joel and Roy walk through woods as Roy has another coughing fit. Joel sees a light and falls to his knees. Joel gets up and begins walking again.

SCENE 8: EXT. Woods (night) -Joel exits the woods, falls, and gets up once again, walking toward the house.

SCENE 9: INT. Roy’s House (night) – A knock sounds at the door. Sarah rises from the couch, walks to the door, and opens it. She helps Joel inside.

SCENE 10: INT. Roy’s House (night) - Joel lies on the couch. Sarah hands Joel a glass of water and the two talk. An intruder who looks like Roy walks through the back door. Joel’s camera flashes and the intruder falls back into the counter. Joel gets up from the couch and Sarah runs to the back door. A knock comes from the back door. Joel lets the real Roy in through the door. Everyone pauses as Joel takes pictures. The intruder thrashes in the kitchen as Joel, Sarah and Roy run through the back door. Intruder wears black contacts.

SCENE 11: EXT. Barnyard (night) - Joel and Sarah run toward the barn and crouch against the side of it. Joel looks at his camera and then looks around the corner to see the intruder walk out of the house. Joel and Sarah walk along the outer wall as the intruder approaches. The two walk back toward the house. Intruder wears black contacts.

SCENE 12: INT. Roy’s House (night) - Joel locks the door as Sarah looks into each of the rooms. Joel looks at his phone and makes a call.

SCENE 13: EXT. Driveway (night) - Joel and Sarah walk out of the house toward Joel’s car.

SCENE 14: INT. Joel’s Car (night) - Joel unlocks the car and Joel and Sarah step inside. Joel attempts to start the car. The intruder appears outside the back window, opens the door, and pulls Sarah out of the car. Joel falls out of the car, rises, and runs as the intruder drags Sarah into the barn. Sarah screams. Intruder wears black contacts.

SCENE 15: EXT. Barn (night) - Joel finds Roy’s body outside and falls back into the snow. Joel gets up, replaces his camera battery, and opens the barn door.

SCENE 16: INT. BARN (night) - The intruder slowly walks to Joel as he presses buttons on his camera. Sarah sits in the corner and speaks to Joel. The lights flicker on and off. Joel triggers his flash attachment and the intruder falls back. Joel drops his camera as he and Sarah run out of the barn. Intruder wears black contacts.

SCENE 17: EXT. Front Yard (night) - Emergency vehicles pull up to the driveway. Men exit the vehicles, grab Joel and Sarah, and force them into the vehicles. Joel struggles against their grip.

SCENE 18: EXT. Barn (night) - The men enter the barn. Gunshots are heard and flashes are seen. Snow falls on Roy’s body and Joel’s camera.

Risks -Actor could harm the camera and/or himself while lowering himself to the ground or rising from the ground

Protection measures -Driveway where action will take place will be swept and cleared of all sticks, rocks, branches, and other harmful materials

-Camera will be securely fastened to the neck of the actor

-Action will be rehearsed and blocked prior to shooting and best practices with equipment will be explained to actor by director

Controls for other loss exposures

- Types of harmful vegetation, insects, and wildlife native to location will be identified before shooting by the property owner. All cast/crew will be informed of harmful vegetation (if there is any) and instructed to avoid such during set-up, shooting, and take down.

- Actor’s allergies will be listed and accounted for before shooting

- Actors will be required to shower after filming to wash off any insect or foliage residue that might cause irritation.

- Insect repellent will be applied and reapplied before and during filming, and will be accessible on set at all times

- Weather will be checked before and during filming to make sure no filming is done in inclement weather. Filming will be halted until safe conditions arrive in the event of inclement weather.

- Cars will be parked nearby for students to occupy in the event of forecasted inclement weather

- Proper clothing will be required of actors to prevent sickness, frostbite, or discomfort in cold weather

Crime prevention measures

Unused equipment will remain in the locked grip truck and there will always be students nearby watching over the equipment when the truck is open. Cars will be parked as close to the location as possible to avoid traveling long distances with equipment. The equipment will not be left in cars overnight, but will stay in the locked grip truck. Grip truck will be kept in a well-lit, camera monitored parking garage on campus. Equipment in use will be monitored carefully by all crewmembers. Students will always travel in pairs and carry a cell phone. Crime reports for the filming location and surrounding locations will be checked before and during filming.

Physical Action Joel and Roy enter the chicken coop. Joel takes pictures as Sarah enters and almost drops a bucket.

Risks -Actor could be harmed by chickens not properly caged

-Actor could be harmed by the bucket if dropped

-Actors could trip and fall

-Actors could cut themselves on sharp edges of cages

Protection measures - All actions for scene will be well rehearsed and blocked

- Before shooting, all chickens will be removed by the owner and placed in a pen that is safe for the animals and away from filming. No chickens will be seen or used in the film.

- Any protruding sharp edges or objects will either be removed or covered prior to shooting. Actors will be informed of any hazard and will not be permitted to touch the cages

- Bucket will be plastic, not metal, and will not hold contents of any kind

- Actors could suffer from allergic reaction to chickens

- Inclement weather or excessive exposure to cold weather can harm actors, crew and equipment

- Equipment will be monitored by experienced crew members at all times

- Everyone will be trained in safety measures regarding all equipment, props and furniture on set. The production design team will clear all unnecessary objects as well as establishing a clear and specific walking path within the room

cleared our for shooting will be restored to its original spot.

-Crew will monitor the electrical capacity and ensure we do not exceed it to prevent a power outage

Physical Action Joel takes pictures as he and Roy walk through the woods.

Risks - Actors could get hurt from branches or thorns in the woods while walking

Protection measures - All action will be rehearsed and blocked prior to filming

- Area will be thoroughly inspected for any overhanging branches, pine cones, etc. that may be hazardous

- Actors and crew will be required to wear long sleeved clothing, pants, and closed toed shoes to prevent injury and irritation

- A clear, level path will be made for actors to walk on

- First aid kit will be easily accessible to all cast and crew

- Actor will not actually be pulled out of car, but rather the effect will be achieved through editing. Actor will leave the car and make facial reactions to make it seem like she is being pulled.

-Actor will not actually fall out of the car. The actor will place his knees on the floor carefully and the ground will be well padded.

- Path of motion will be cleared of all obstacles prior to shooting

- Actors will jog rather than run in order to prevent any type of over exertion and allow for better control within the action

All equipment rented from Thomasson Filmgear

-Equipment could be damaged by misuse and/or improper handling.

-Inclement weather could damage equipment.

-Students could be injured by mishandling of equipment.

-Equipment could be damaged or stolen by others not on our set.

-Students will practice safe work habits and all equipment will be handled with care.

-All crewmembers will be properly trained how to use the rented equipment. Only experienced students will operate equipment or participate on set-up/take down of rented equipment.

-Equipment will be stored in dry and safe places at all times. In the event of inclement weather during shooting, filming will be postponed and all equipment will be taken down and returned to a safe location.

-Equipment will never be left out in the open or unattended.

-When not in use, all equipment will be locked in cars/grip truck, and all vehicles will be locked when not in use or monitored by crewmembers.

-Equipment will be properly stored in the grip truck and other vehicles overseen by an experienced member of the crew, e.g. the gaffer or director of photography.
