• There have been many directors of Eastenders. Such as Clive Arnold, Sue Dunderdale, Susan Tully and S.J Clarkson

Albert Square

• Albert Square is a prominent characteristic of Eastenders

• Eastenders is set in Albert Square

• The design of Albert Square is based around the layout of Fassett Square in Hackney. Fassett Square is a real life square, whereas Albert Square is fictional

• Albert Square is a fictional victorian square in East London

• Albert Square is where the majority of the storylines take place. However, some of the storylines are focused specifically on the Queen Vic Pub

Queen Vic

• Fictional address of 46 Albert Square, Walford, London E20.

• The Queen Vic made its first appearance on the 19th of February 1985

• Originally the pub was to be called The Balmoral but after the death of Prince Albert it was renamed as a tribute to the mourning Queen

• In a storyline shown during September 2010, The Queen Victoria was severely damaged by a fire

Eastenders Theme Tune

• The Eastenders theme tune is heard at the start of the soap

• The theme tune was composed by Simon May and Leslie Osborne in 1984

• The theme tune is written in E-flat major and predominantly consists of percussion

• A famously known characteristic of Eastenders is the drums at the end. The drums end every episode and emphasise the cliffhanger
