EXAMPLE IDEA: Community development + Livelihoods //

GYAAN KI CHAI Like Starbucksonly better

People already gather in chai stalls, so why not integrate it into the development of the village? Add tablets that people, like students, can use for a small fee. Bring in local artists to do performances and pay them a small fee. Hold debates and discussions on important local issues.

RISKS + MITIGATION STRATEGIES //

POLITICAL INTERFERENCE: Mitigated by having projects run by locals and that benefit the whole village.

CRIME: Overall, crime has dropped significantly. Secondly, we build close relationships with all major administrators at the state and district levels to ensure protection.

VISIONARIES DROPPING OUT: Mitigated by having such a long selection process that ensures that those who make it to the end are really committed; by the fact that we invest in close relationships with visionary families; and by the fact that we pay a stipend.

FAILED ENTERPRISES: Mitigated by using proven models that create social and financial value.

OUR SECRET SAUCE: OUR CULTURE //

Where the mind is without far and the head is held high;Where knowledge is free;Where the world has not been frittered into fragments by narrow domestic walls;Where words come out from the depth of truth;Where sleepless striving stretches its strenuous arms towards perfection;Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way in the dreary desert sand of dead habit, and where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action there wake up my country into that heaven of freedom, my father! -Rabindranath Tagore
