- Located at Jalan Hang Jebat, Melaka, Malaysia

• Coordinates: 2°11'48"N 102°14'48"E

Site Context

- Located in the middle of Jalan Hang Jebat, or Jonker Walk as it is more

commonly known.

- A landmark of cultural appreciation. A great amount of activity

characterises the site.

- Densely built-up area, featuring traditional and colonial style buildings.

Baba Nyonya influence on surrounding architecture.

- Enveloped by buildings on three sides. Situated next to a famous ‘museum

cafe’, Jonker88.

The Historical Background of the Park

- In 2001,3 shop houses were accidentally tore down by constructor.

- In year 2010, it's been refurbished into a recreational park commemorating.

- Boon Leong’s(Mr. Universe, Mr. Asia, Mr. Malaysia, Mr. Melaka or The father of bodybuilders) statue had been established in the park .

- The inscription of Malacca is World Heritage.

- It also creating awareness of heritage preservation amongst the public.

Site Context

- Paley Park is situated in Midtown, Manhattan along with many iconic

buildings, such as the Empire State Building, and the Chrysler Building.

- Located in the midst of a densely built up concrete jungle. High rise

buildings surround it. In proximity with landmarks such as The Museum of

Modern Arts, and the Rockefeller Center.

- Faces often utilised circulation infrastructure, such as paths and streets.

53rd Street is an example.

History & background (paley park)

-Paley park was named by paley for his father,Samuel Paley.

-It is set aside in memory of Samuel Paley ,1875-1963.

-Paley park completed in 1967.

-The design for this 4,200 square feet (390 m2)-It is created by Zion and

Breene Associates and financed

by the William S. Paley Foundation.
