    Conclusions:

    I thought that no matter which shape the clay was in, it would sink because of how

    heavy and dense it was. I was surprised to find that the bowl and both of the boats

    floated. So to answer my question; Yes, changing the shape of an object can indeedeffect its ability to float. To conclude, my hypothesis was wrong.
