NUMBER
In our first project we were randomly selected and given a topic to generate what comes to mind when we think of that topic; my topic was numbers. For this project we learned how to use keynote to create a slideshow video of our thoughts and reactions to our topic. I decided to make a parrody of mathmeticians and scientists.
For project two we read the poem Thirteen Ways Of Look-ing at a Blackbird bWallace Stevens. Using Adobe Illustra-tor I focused on my composition and used gestalt princi-pals to create positive and negative space using only type in my final piece. Every part of the negative space that I made represents each stanza in the poem.
Project three was about using adobe illustrater to design a mandala of the elements using geometry and color. We learned about color relationships and different geomet-ric structures to make a compositionally pleasing image. In this project I learned how to create an illusion of color transparency and blending. I used this technique to gener-ate the colors I chose to fill my body layer.
In order to prepare ourselves for project four we read chapters seven through nine and completed the correlat-ing exercises. For chapter nine we learned how to blend layers and experimented with using different hues and saturation. In this chapter I enjoyed blending layers and changing hues and saturations which ultimately created really interesting textures.
For my project four I really wanted to focus on textures and layers of color. My original scanned image was of jewelry and chains and I used my hair as a background image. In my second image two classmates individually collaborated on my original picture and when I received their final product I blended and altered what they placed on my image.
In our last project of multiples and collage I chose to do a series of three images relating to the same subject (nature). I duplicated each image twice and making one black and white with a high contrast and one highly sat-urated color version. Then I cut pieces of the black and white and color images and placed them on the original image.
