3.5 Effects of Earthquake in the Project After the devastating earthquake of Baisakh 2072 the following impacts and precautions have been taken : All the rented houses have been destroyed by the earthquake hits. So we paid compensation amount as we modified the houses as per project need. This lead to make our own camp house to use longer terms, for entire 30 years period. Regarding survey modification we have considered the penstock alignment below the village settlement, keeping in view of pipe outburst and leekage due to earthquake reason. Regarding design modifications, we decided to omit Concrete Surge Tank in Upallo Khimti 12 MW HPP and put Automatic Jet deflector in Pelton Turbine. For Upper Khimti – II 7 MW we replaced the Concrete Surge Tank with Steel Surge Tank. We are also reviewing all the structurally designed structure to cope up with moderate level of Earthquake shocks. We have also checked all the Survey Points, Control Points, Bench Marks to ensure that the points are entact and has no severely effected by Earthquake shocks. We have also improved communication system after the earthquake by installing VSAT, Walkie Talkie and WebSURFER for internate connection. 3.6 Effects of Terai Banda in the Project We have been severely effected by Terai Banda. The Steel plates ordered from Steel Authority of India was just lying on the railway yards, that resulted in paying significant amount as damrage charge. Transportation of construction materials like cement, construction material has delayed project schedule. The Construction Power work was also effected for late completion. We were planning to start the Civil Construction work in full flaged from Mangsir 2072 resulting four months delay in project execution. We were forced like others to buy fuels in higher price, pay higher costs for transportation of goods and materials. We have completed the access road construction work by working two shifts. We are also preparing ourselves to work minimum of two shifts and in cases work round the clock to meet the project schedule.

6.1 Study of Reliability of Power Available at Site
Power availability and reliability study was conducted from 6th Shrawan 2072 to 11th Shrawan 2072 for site. Study included condition of existing 11 kV Jiri –Those feeder, available power sources at Jiri 33/11 KV substation and at Charikot 33/11 KV substation. Study also included power availability at site for construction works during off peak time and peak time (5:30 PM -9:30 PM), frequency of occurrence of fault in existing 11 kV feeder from which we are planning to tap for our energy requirements. From overall, data collected at Jiri substation, it was seen that power is available for our requirement during off peak time and reliability is also seen satisfactory. Even though, some rectification works such as bush cutting, maintain of line to ground clearance, stay installation and other minor works has to carry out for making existing 11 kV line more reliable. This is will be carried out during installation of 11 KV line for our construction works.
