1. Concept of OID Resolution System
• Object Identifier (OID)– Definition: A globally unique value associated with an object
to unambiguously identify it (ITU-T Recommendation X.680 | ISO/IEC 8824-1)
– Variety of objects: ITU-T SG no., countries, Standards, cryptographic algorithm, network, protocol commend, code … Anything
– Example• {0 1 17} = ITU-T Study Group 17• {1 0 15961} = ISO/IEC 15961• {1 2 410 200004 1 2} = HAS-160 hash algorithm• {0 3 4500} = Korea (Rep. of) HiNET-P (Korea Telecom)• {1 0 15961 126 7} = ReadSingleObjectCommand
• OID Resolution System– Definition: A system which provides information associated
with any object identified by an Object Identifier

• NP (6N13665) was proposed at July 2008• NP was approved at October 2008• JTC 1/SC 6 meeting (Montreux , 3 ~ 7 November 2008)
– Project No. (55.01.00) and designate IS no. (29168) were assigned
– BRM for NP ballot
• 1st Working Draft was submitted to JTC 1/SC 6 at December 2008
• ITU-T SG17 meeting (Geneva, 11 ~ 20 February 2009)– BRM on 1st Working Draft
