Show Some Love in Your Office

Ready or not, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner. Get ready to show some love and

appreciation to your members by using these top tips.

Send Cards!

I highly recommend that you send a personal Valentine's Day postcard to all your practice members. Aim for a deadline of February 10th. And don’t forget your office newsletter! Get started by taking a family photo (or an office team photo) and creating custom cards at a local photo store. Print up a batch for your entire list of active practice members. Postcards are really inexpensive and it's a highly personal way to share some love with your members on Valentine's Day.

Valentine Table!

I also recommend that you set up a Valentine's Day card table for your members to use in your office. It’s a great way to gain referrals while providing a service for your active members. And by sending out your own postcards to your members by February 5th, you can build their excitement and let them know about this in-office service. Decorate!

Create a fun theme and go with it. In our office we have Valentine themed posters, giveaways, as well as decorations on the walls and in the front windows. Make your space as inviting as possible.

There is a lot of talk in our culture about win-win

scenarios. What’s better than a win-win? A

triple win that’s easy for you to accomplish.

How to Get it Done

Building relationships with non-profits and

charities in your area creates a great positive

social image for your wellness center. Not only

that, but it shows that you’re a doctor with a

heart. You can easily talk about chiropractic with

your local charities, their employees, and their

supporters. If you need some help finding non-

profits, simply go to your local Chamber of

Commerce, your newspaper, or Google it. Once

you have a list on hand, look for the charities that

have at least 20 employees and are local rather

than national non-profits. Every town has lots of

them. You can even have one of your team

members be in charge of contacting a specific

number of charities each week. After their initial

phone calls they can create a relationship with

each organization via snail mail and an e-mail

follow-up.

What’s next?

Contact them with a personal phone call and look

for the decision maker relative to special events.

Details to share:

1. Offer to host a fundraising dinner to sell

tickets and explain that you’ll do a program just

like your dinner workshop.

2. Explain that you’ll donate the food and the

money raised in ticket sales will be donated back.

3. Reassure them that your speaking fee will be

waived.

4. Tell them that all they’re responsible for is to

sell tickets for anywhere from $15-$50 a person

(THEY DECIDE)—all of which goes directly to the

charity.

Create A Holiday

members

We all know how important it is to use holidays in your marketing plans. It happens in every

major retail store across the country. As soon as one holiday is over, merchants create displays

and promotions for the next holiday. It’s a big deal. But why be limited to the standard holidays

on your 2015 calendar? Don’t let yourself be limited to the typical hallmark celebrations. Think

outside the box and get creative.

In fact, you can even do this in the midst of Valentine’s Day.

Why not celebrate a “Chocolate Day” in the office? You

could offer healthier types of chocolate (defining what that

actually means) and could even talk about the health benefits

that go along with it. Want to take it one step further? You

could even pass out healthy recipes that incorporate your

theme of chocolate (or of Valentine’s Day). Creating your

own holidays and in-office promotions are fun for you, fun

for your team, and (most importantly) enjoyed by your

practice members.

members’ days this year and encourage a little wackiness while promoting your services, offering

discounts, raising money for charity, etc. The sky’s the limit!

an opportunity to get a promotional initial

evaluation in your office based on your state

laws. The discounted rate that they would have

Extra Perks

If you create a relationship with the charity

ahead of time, you can often create a situation

where you can arrange for an additional

presentation which you can give in their office for

their own employees. Make a goal of having one

non-profit lecture a month; you’ll be able to help

12 charities a year!

I recently ran into a chiropractor that said she met someone who had been to several of my events in the past. Due to this individual’s financial circumstances, however, she never sought out care or an initial evaluation. But those seeds of knowledge that had been planted ended up staying with her and she eventually moved to a new area and sought out a chiropractor. The lesson? Never let yourself focus on the negatives such as, “I didn’t have enough people come to that class.” Or, “I only had one person come in for an evaluation afterwards.” If your head space and heart space are just right, things will work out for the best. Just focus on mastering your procedures and expending good energy—great things will happen in the future. Remember, the things you do today will affect the lives of millions tomorrow.

To .Do List Setting up a Valentine

Table for your practice

members is a piece of cake, but there are definitely some items that you don’t want to overlook. Start planning for this event now so that you can make it a tradition in your office every year. It’s great!

Why bother? It’s a fun,

passive way to get your clients to refer their friends, family members, and co-workers. Ideally, you’ll want to host this event in your office for a full two weeks leading up to Valentine’s Day

Day (or at least by February 1st). This promo is super, ultra, mega inexpensive and it requires minimal attention from your team.

What you’ll need…

1. A dedicated space in your office in a high traffic area.

2. Begin with a sharp-looking tablecloth (white or pink always look great).

3. Valentine decorations. No need to go over the top, but make it fun and festive.

4. At least 100+ Valentine cards. Make sure to provide a variety that will accommodate all types of

ages and styles. Don’t be afraid to get goofy ones too—adults love Spider Man, Scooby Doo, and the Simpsons just as much as kids!

5. Postage stamps, controlled by your marketing team or office staff.

6. Gift certificates to insert into the cards. These can provide free or discounted introductory services.

7. A tracking log for internal use. Use this to “activate” the gift certificates by writing down who the

card is going to (making sure to get phone numbers as well). This promotion is loads of fun, super easy, and incredibly profitable. Make 2017 the year that you begin this tradition in your own office!
