Product DescriptionMerriottt Profiles radiators provide a modern approach to the traditional column radiators. They are available in various configurations to suit the output, space and style required; they can be in a single-sided or double-sided configuration, horizontal or vertical, with heating elements of a 35mm or 70mm depth.

Profile radiators can be joined via special joiner pieces when the length required is not achievable in one single block. See page 11 for full details.

Outputs All Merriott Profile radiators have been manufactured and tested in accordance with EN442.

FinishEvery Merriott Profile radiator undergoes an intensive pre-treatment process to protect against rust. In pre-treatment, the radiators are degreased, coated with iron phosphate and rinsed prior to painting. A cathodic electrodeposition primer coating is then applied to give total coverage of the bare steel and maximum corrosion protection. The durable topcoat (epoxy polyester powder) is electrostatically applied and stove enamel baked at 180˚C. The process is monitored to ensure continuous achievement of optimum adhesion, opacity and gloss levels.

Colour Our standard finish is semi-gloss RAL 9016 (White) in epoxy polyester powder. An extensive range of other RAL and BS colours are available, at extra cost, on request.

Packaging The entire surface of the radiator, including all 4 corners, is protected by cardboard box ends and packed in shrink wrapped polythene.

Connections Standard connections are 1/2" (15mm) EF connections with 1/2" (15mm) air vent at A & C. Other combinations including AB, AD, BD, AC and GH. Alternative connections of 3/4" is available upon request. Connection ladder features on page 7.

Note: Flow and return positions must be made clear at time of ordering.

Range OverviewTestingThe standard test pressure is 7 bar, giving a maximum operating pressure of 5.38 Bar. Other operating pressures are available upon request.

Brackets and Feet The Profile radiator can be supplied with welded, loose and extended element feet at an extra cost.

All Merriott Profile radiators are supplied with wall mounting brackets as standard.

Dimensional Tolerances Dimensional tolerances are in accordance with EN442.

MaterialsMerriott’s Profile radiators are manufactured from flat steel tube, 70mm x 11mm x 1.5mm or 35mm x 11mm x 1.5mm.

Element PitchAn element pitch of 35mm is standard on 35mm tubes. An element pitch of 40mm is standard on 70mm tubes. a 50mm element pitch is available on request on 70mm tubes.

Baffle PlacementVertical Profile radiators that have connection GH, EF, AC, or BD will have a fully sealed baffle in the flow/return header. Installation sheets are sent with each radiator to show the baffle location. Connection ladder features on page 7.

Warranty Merriott radiators are warranted for a period of 10 years from date of purchase in respect of defective materials and workmanship. The system should be designed in accordance with the British Standard Code of Practice for Water Based Heating Systems in Buildings BS EN 12828:2012+A1:2014 and BS EN 12831: 2003. The installation and commissioning of the system should comply with BS EN 14336:2004. On completion of the installation, the system should be properly flushed and filled in accordance with the British Code of Practice for the Treatment of Water in Domestic Hot Water Central Heating Systems BS 7593:2006, Part L of Building Regulations and Good Practice Guidance for Scotland. Merriott strongly recommends the use of corrosion inhibitor for all applications. Failure to observe these standards may invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.

Mounting OptionsFloor mounting (feet)

Floor-mounting brackets (feet) are available for all Merriott’s Profile radiators, at an additional cost. The floor-mounting options are welded feet, loose feet, extended element feet or design feet.

• Feet can be of any height with a minimum of 50mm. • Floor-mounted Profiles exceeding 500mm high (radiator and feet included) require top support brackets to ensure stability. • Feet must be specified at the time of order.

All Merriott’s Profile radiators are supplied as standard with wall-mounting brackets. Left and right brackets are used for mounting the S35, S70 and D35 types. The D70 requires a wider bracket.

If a Profile radiator is ordered at a size greater than 900mm high and 900mm long, it will be manufactured in 2 halves and installed on site as a single radiator. This will result in a 20mm gap between the radiators.

*Note: should the radiators are manufactured with extended element feet, the maximum height and length will be 800mm.

The outputs quoted in this brochure are based on a Δ T of 50 C̊.

Listed below are the multiplying factors needed to calculate the output at other Delta Ts (ΔTs) between 10ºC and 80ºC. This is done by multiplying the heat output with the appropriate correction factor selected from the table below. Please note more detailed correction factors for Profile products are available from your sales consultant.

EXAMPLE:Required Room Temperature - 20 C̊ Flow Temperature - 75˚C Return Temperature - 65˚C

SOLUTION:Mean Water Temperature – (T Flow + T Return) / 2 (75+65)/2 = 70˚C

ΔT = Mean Water Temperature – Required Room Temperature - 70˚C - 20˚C = ΔT50˚C

How to calculate the resistance of a Profile radiator ΔT 50˚C

Radiator type: S70 (40mm pitch) 1520mm LONG x 600mm HIGH Output @ ΔT 50˚C: 1695W (flow/return – 75/65˚C)

If the output is not at ΔT50˚C, please use the correction factor table on the previous page to get the correct output.

C – Specific Heat Constant (always 4187 J/kg˚C)

Q – (m) x (C) x (ΔT)

Output – (flow rate) x (Constant) x (difference between flow and return temp)

Watts – (L/s) (J/kg˚C) (˚C)
