The Upper School was started in 1992 and graduated its first senior class in 1996. One hundred percent of its seniors attend selective four-year colleges. THE STUDENT BODY CSN students represent diverse economic and social backgrounds, and 17.2% of the student body receive need-based tuition assistance. Total tuition assistance is $2,814,177. The student body includes students from 26 countries outside of the United States. Students with diverse backgrounds comprise 17.5% of total enrollment. The total enrollment of CSN in 2019-2020 is 844: Upper School: 320 students, grades 9 through 12. Middle School: 212 students, grades 6 through 8. Lower School: 312 students, pre-kindergarten through grade 5. THE FACULTY The faculty is comprised of 101 teachers and administrators who also teach. Of the 43 members of the Upper School faculty, 81% hold advanced degrees. The average student/faculty ratio in the upper school is 8:1, and the average class size is 14 students. ACCREDITATION AND MEMBERSHIPS Community School of Naples is fully accredited by the Florida Council of Independent Schools. CSN is also a member of professional organizations including: AdvancED • Association of College Counselors of Independent Schools • CollegeBoard • The Cum Laude Society • European Council of Independent Schools • National Association for College Admission Counseling • National Association of Independent Schools • School & Student Services by NAIS • School Year Abroad • Secondary School Admission Test Board • Southern Association for College Admission Counseling Noteworthy Opportunities at CSN CSN Scholars Program enables students to specialize in one of four areas: Creative, Human Performance, Global, and STEM. Students who successfully complete all requirements of this program receive special designation on their transcripts. AP Capstone Program, which involves taking AP Seminar and AP Research, is a rigorous program designed to equip students with argument-based research and writing skills. Advisory & House System provide students a smaller community within the Upper School where they can hone academic and leadership skills, strengthen character and empathy, and support one another in academic and athletic pursuits on a regular basis. Robust Athletic Program of 22 sports, which are supported by 47 different teams. Junior Experience is a two-week program at the end of junior year. In week one, students complete an Outward Bound course in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, where they practice the skills of leadership, compassion, and self-reliance. In week two, students participate in Career Bound, which is the opportunity to job shadow in a student’s chosen profession. The Everglades Foundation provided training and certification to every CSN faculty member in August 2019, with the goal of incorporating environmental stewardship and place-based education throughout the PK3-12 curriculum.     Of the Class of 2020, 98.8% will have taken at least one AP course at Community School of Naples. In May 2019, 203 students took 565 Advanced Placement Exams. CSN has adopted an open enrollment policy for most AP courses.

    AP Policy Students enrolled in an AP course must take the AP Exam in order to receive AP credit and weighting on their transcript.
