Walker Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors® A s the year winds down, it’s important to remember the professionals and volunteers who have made 2006 so enjoyable and so highly successful. Previous pages highlighted the prominent events and accomplishments of the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors. Today, we give thanks to some of the committee members and leaders who contributed to that success throughout the year. Thank You! • Equal Opportunity and Cultural Diver- sity Committee, chaired by Ben Eubanks, vice chair Debora Bright-Laney — The goal is to develop policy promoting equality in housing and diversity within the real es- tate industry and within the Association’s membership, to serve as ambassadors to minority real estate organiza- tions, to promote changes in business practices that reflect the growing cultural diversity of the region, and to share di- versity knowledge, expertise, analysis and information with other committees, Association leadership, members and staff. • Commercial Real Estate Committee, chaired by Vince Muselli, vice chair Dan Verdin — This committee’s mission is to be a collective force influencing and shap- ing the commercial real estate industry, to advance and enhance it by unifying the professionals toward common goals and interests. It provides specialized and state-of-the-art services to practitioners, creates a unified forum for the exchange of information and ideas, and advocates a high standard of education and professionalism among members. • Public Policy Committee, chaired by Rick Otterstrom, vice chair Mary Piccione — This committee is one of the most effec- tive local governmental affairs committees in the Realtor family. It has dealt with such diverse issues as real estate sign ordinances and the business license tax to rent control and zoning ordinances. The committee has grown in size, the sophistication of its members and staff, and the complexity and number of issues it deals with. • Housing Affordability Committee, chaired by Arnie Smith, vice chair Don Sanchez — This committee is committed to the furtherance of affordable housing for all people, in all walks of life, so everyone can experience the pride and joy of home ownership. The committee’s goal is to be a valuable resource to the community at large by providing information and assisting the public in the home purchasing. Some of the outreach programs include first-time home Gilmore Receives Donald J. Trump Award C elebrity, author and real estate mogul Donald J. Trump knows real estate and recognizes excellence when he sees it. That’s why the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors was honored to have Trump personally pres- ent the Donald J. Trump Award to Tom Gilmore, managing partner of Gilmore Associates, a professional who has had a singular impact on the evolution, development and perpetuation of real estate throughout Greater Los Angeles. Among many accomplishments, Gilmore pioneered the redevelopment of the historic downtown area now designated the Old Bank District and, in the process, created over 500 units of housing, added multiple retail and commercial businesses, which yielded over 100 new jobs. Instituted by Ronna Mee Brand, the Association’s 2007 president, the Trump Award honors individuals who make a signifi- cant impact to the real estate industry and the region. More than 500 people attended the installation ceremonies and award presentation at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Spike Jones Jr., produced and directed the evening’s festivities, and Tiffany & Co. designed and donated the first ever Donald J. Trump Award. This committee has also participated in neighborhood improvement projects to help the elderly, sick or poor by painting homes, cleaning out garages and landscaping property. It also convenes housing summits in downtown Los Angeles which bring politicians, builders, city plan- ners, union leaders and Realtors together to nurture an ongoing dialogue on how best to create housing affordable to the teachers, nurses, fire fighters, police officers and the entire work force who serve Los Angeles. • Elite Affiliates Committee, chaired by Erica Hightower — Among the affiliate members of the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors there exists a group of elite affiliates who are commit- ted to added value, support and providing exceptional service to the residential real estate industry. These affiliates actively and regularly participate in Association activities, fund raisers and classes. They also provide valuable educational training and articles that help Realtors become well rounded and very knowledgeable. These Elite Affiliates recognize the value and importance the Realtor has to the industry.

As the year winds down, it’s important to remember the professionals and volunteers who have made 2006 so

enjoyable and so highly successful.

Previous pages highlighted the prominent events and accomplishments of the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors. Today, we give thanks to some of the committee members and leaders who contributed to that success throughout the year. Thank You!

Celebrity, author and real estate mogul Donald J. Trump knows real estate and recognizes excellence when he sees it. That’s why the Beverly Hills Greater Los Angeles Association of Realtors was honored to have Trump personally pres-ent the Donald J. Trump Award to Tom Gilmore, managing partner of Gilmore Associates, a professional who has had
