• The primary goal of the Non-violent Crisis Intervention Training is to assure the health, welfare, safety, and security of all individuals in a conflict situation.

• I learned how to recognize and properly respond to the verbal and physically acting out behavior of students.

Kappa Delta Pi and Education Organization

• As a member of the college’s Education Organization and the Education Major’s National Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi, I attend monthly meetings, volunteer at community and school-sponsored activities, and socialize with other colleagues in my major.

• Some activities I have been participating in include Lit Nights at local libraries, North Museum activities, homecoming bake sale, babysitting, and preparing bulletin boards.

• I have also become a member of NSTA (National Science Teachers Association) through the Education Organization.

Student Athlete Mentor (SAM)

• I was elected by my teammates to be one of the Women’s Soccer team’s SAMs where I serve as a peer counselor and intervention specialist for my teammates. By being chosen as the representative, my teammates have stated that they can rely on me and trust me.

• I was specially trained to assist with potential problems my teammates may be experiencing such as health issues, disagreements, struggles in the classroom, etc.
