The aim of my Final Project was designing a laptop Stand not seen yet in the market.
After a long research I proved there was no stand combining multifunctionality and easy
transport.
Once set the main targets for the product, a qualitative and quantitative methodologies were
applied to develop the design of th HQ Stand.
FINAL PROJECT
HQ Stand
22
After months of hard work i finished the Final Project. The thickness of the product was just
10mm and it had different accesories to provide multifunctionality.
The main problem was setting all the accessories into the object and avoiding the
weight increasement. An INNOVATIVE material was used for the
Stand. A composite called Hylite is a sheet of 0.2mm aluminium with a PP core makes has
a incredible properties like steel stiffness and below aluminium weight. So the Stand was
lighter and harder than made from aluminium.
FINAL PROJECT
HQ Stand

26
27
The user can custom its own HQ Stand by choosing between 3
different colours for the body and 7 other colours for the silicone
protections.
FINAL PROJECT
HQ Stand
28
As a closing, I studied and considered the costs of making the product, including raw material costs, manufacturing, employees, marketing team,
prototyping investment, etc. Moreover I speculated about the benefits the “company” would get after
selling 5000 units in 4 years, including transport, packaging, etc.
It was proved the project was completely feasible. Success.

OTHER PROJECTSEco-Playground
Combining the subjects of “Design & Environment” and “3DsMax”. As the first
experience with the program I designed an ECO-PLAYGROUND.
An amount of 150 different pieces were designed to create the estructure shown on the pictures.
Plus, there was a path created for making a video, setting lights, cameras and environment.
34
OTHER PROJECTSEco-Playground
As a second step of the project and using the program “OpenLCA” where you study the
environmental impact of manufacturing and processing the ECO-PLAYGROUND considering either the raw material extraction, transport, and
end of life impacts.

During “Fallas” Festivity in Valencia, lots of monuments called by the same name are build in the streets of the city. These pieces are up to metres tall and they are made from carton, EPS
and wood. On the 19th of March all the Fallas get burned on the street as a festival closing.
The aim of this arts&craft job is criticizing with humor actual social facts in our day by day.

Fallas Ximo Esteve is our family business. Decades before I was born, my father Ximo Esteve created his own company and we have been living from it so far.
It is a really interesting job and work for every foreing person, even into the country, so it was accepted as a Work Placement due to the skills obtained about modelling,
prototyping, painting, sanding and overall using creativity to make new things.
However, it has been my whole-life job, so I have been helping my parents all the time I could since I was a child.
42
WORK PLACEMENTS

The average of Fallas made per year is about 6-7. The festivity lasts for 5 days, but we start making the pieces
in April-May, so we are working all the year.
However, the company is able to make different work as well. USA parades, decorations, theme parks and
amusement park decorations and structures like Disney or Warner Bross in Madrid have been made by “Fallas
Makers”.
43
WORK PLACEMENTS
GMIT Letterfrack
During my Work Placement in the Erasmus I had to design and manufacture a trophy for “GMIT
Teaching exellence”.
It had to be really simple and wooden.
44
WORK PLACEMENTS
GMIT Letterfrack
As an extra job, I was told to design different “souvenirs” for GMIT Letterfrack.
Using the Laser Cutter I designed different coasters, key-rings, book-markers, etc.
