Teilhard Seminar Wednesday 6 November 2019 9am at Ushaw College Prof. Ilia Delio OSF (Villanova University) Living Creation Theology in the Context of Contemporary Science: The Distinctive Contribution of the Franciscan Theological Tradition Bonaventure and Scotus constructed a latticework of ideas that grew out of the theological experience of Francis of Assisi. In light of how science describes nature today in terms of deep relationality, cosmic holism and evolution, Franciscan theology has never been more relevant. In particular, Prof. Delio will discuss key insights of Scotus that pave the way for Process theology, especially the the work of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin, whose theogenic vision enkindles the primacy of Christ in the 21st century.
