Description

The Compact, Rechargeable, Strip LED Light units are user friendly and easy to transport and operate. The Light System will effectively illuminate the stope/development area and will improve visibility and the identification of hazardous conditions and situations. It will also indicate unsafe conditions or areas with a Red LED indication/warning light. The light unit and charging box are modular units that can be repaired by trained personnel on the mine.

These solar powered LED traffic control lights are used on roads to prevent the possibili-ties of accidents. Our solar powered traffic lights are perfect for road safety and traffic control applications in remote areas and on dirt and mine roads. There is no trenching,

wiring or electrical work required in these traffic lights.

Solar traffic lights are fitted with the latest technology in electronics. These are based on photovoltaic or PV for short. A solar panel located on the top of the pole converts sunlight into electrical power. A solar charger regulates the voltage coming out of the solar panel. The regulated power obtained is used to charge a battery. Lighting is produced by arrays of extra bright LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) that are much brighter than bulbs. LEDs last

for years and are very energy efficient.

On simple and stand-alone traffic lights a timer controls the lighting sequence at fixed in-tervals. Sets of traffic lights are usually radio linked together, insuring wire-less commu-

nication between the lights. A master traffic light connected to a computerized controller/sequencer synchronizes and controls the slave units.

Scraper Winch and Mono-Rope Installation

8.4(2) The measures to be taken by the employer in terms of regulation 8.4(1) must include measures to ensure that- (a) scraper-winches and mono-rope winches are only operated by competent persons authorized by the employer to do so; (b) the scraper winch or mono-rope winch is not operated until it is examined and declared safe to operate by a person author-ised to do so by the employer;

(c) means are provided to forewarn persons of the intention to commence operating any scraper-winch or mono-rope winch; (PRE-WARNING)

(d) means are provided for persons to signal to the operator, from any access point to the instal-lation, to shut down the operation of the scraper-winch or mono-rope winch installation; (SAFETY CUT-OUT)

(e) scraper winch and mono-rope winch ropes, scraper attachments and rope splicing are regularly inspected; (f) the scraper winch ropes are always underlay; (g) a written procedure is prepared and implemented for the installation of the winch system

until the faulty unit or cable can be replaced.
