Cover Page and Contents Page

My production of the Front Cover

The production of the front cover was created on Adobe Photoshop. Firstly I had to create the background of the front cover using the main image. Then the positioning of the title and positioning statement was added in the masthead. By doing so, it enabled me to position the main cover line.

I then went on to adding the cover lines and sub lines of the magazine, I positioned the cover lines and sub in a way that anchors the main image.

Finally to complete the production I added the featured content in which is positioned at the bottom of the magazine, the barcode and the price of the magazine.

My Production of the Contents Page

The production of the contents page was carried out on QuarkXPress. The page was structured into three sections, one for content and two for imagery. Firstly I added the title of the magazine, followed with the date published above it. Then I added in the imagery, one main image (that links to the double page spread) and three subsidiary images.

I then went on to adding sub titles; features and regulars -here the content of the magazine will be listed and editors letter – here the editor will write a letter that relates to the features that the magazine consist of. I then added the page numbers and content that relate to each picture.

To complete the production of the contents page I added the list of the features and regulars and their page number. Also I the editors letter was added and the web address of the magazine was positioned at the bottom right hand corner.
