Saturday, 8/20/1112:00 PM – 1:00 PM

Activity: Finalizing the outline for the coloring book.

Commentary: Actually thinking out the concepts and applying them to a page is probably smarter. This way, later when all the planning for the pictures’ orientation is done, I can just directly apply these pictures to 8 ½” x 11” pages.

Commentary: I am slowly discovering how to position the drawing on the page…for the pages to be ready for the printer, I need to leave spaces in the margins.

Tuesday, 12/ 27/114:30 PM – 10:30 PM

Activity: Going through drawing 1 and 2; redrawing lines thicker, establishing fluidity, positioning and scaling on page, and deleting unneeded elements.

Commentary: In order for the drawings to look professional, a bolder line is required for the entire piece. I made due on drawing one, since it is so immense, on areas that lacked visible lines, so the overall picture is large enough for kids to color. Sadly, my computer decided to delete all my corrections on drawing 2, so I had to find the original draft on my computer and rebuild from the bottom up.

Monday, 1/2/124:15 PM – 9:15 PM

Activity: Retracing thick lines over drawings 1-4.

Commentary: My latest discovery is creating a layer over the sketch and tracing the sketch in thick pen, then erasing the original, all on my pen pad. This method is a lot faster than fixing small mistakes, and fixes the problem of the pages looking like…well, like they don’t belong in a coloring book!
