Parking Safely

1. Stop machine on a level surface, not on a slope.

2. Disengage PTO and stop attachments.

3. Lower attachments to the ground.

4. Lock park brake.

5. Stop engine.

6. Remove key.

7. Wait for engine and all moving parts to stop before you leave the operator’s station.

8. Close fuel shut-off valve, if your machine is equipped.

9. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable before servicing the machine.

Prepare Machine

1. Remove right rear wheel.

2. 2305 only: Remove bolt (A) and bolt (B) (with washer) from bracket at front lower part of fender. Retain small bolt (B) for reuse.

Assemble Valve

1. Install 12mm O-ring (A) into groove end of large straight fitting (B). Install 21mm O-ring (C) over threads of large straight fitting.

2. Install 12mm O-ring (D) into groove end of large 90° elbow fitting (E). Install 21mm O-ring (F) over threads of large 90° elbow fitting.

Picture Note: Position 90° elbow fitting (K) approximately as shown.

3. Remove three plastic plugs from valve (G).

4. Install large straight fitting (H) and medium straight fitting (I) into bottom of valve. Tighten to 50 N•m (37 lb-ft).

5. Remove large metal plug (J) from top of valve and install into front of valve. Tighten to 50 N•m (37 lb-ft).

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Remove wheels safely.

• Use a safe lifting device and support machine securely on jack stands.

• Block front and rear of wheel not raised to prevent machine movement.

• Wheel can be heavy or difficult to handle when removing.

6. Loosely install 90° elbow fitting (K) in top of valve.

Install Kit (2305)

Install Brackets and Valve

1. Check to be sure independent mower lift hydraulic hose (A) is routed on left side of mechanical front wheel drive (MFWD) lever (B). If it is not, loosen clamp (C) and rotate 180° and tighten in position shown.

2. Position valve support (D) as shown and install two M8x50 carriage bolts (E) through upper holes (from inside out).

3. Install bolt (F) previously removed from tractor.

4. Place two spacers behind bottom hole in bracket and secure with M10x80 bolt (G).

5. Install valve (H) on carriage bolts with two M8 nuts (I).

6. Locate two holes in bracket underneath rear of foot deck. Loosely install quick coupler bracket support (J) with two M8x20 flange head bolts and M8 flange nuts (K). Install bolts from front of tractor and nuts toward rear.

7. Position quick coupler bracket (L) on top of quick coupler bracket support (M) and loosely install two M8x16 carriage bolts (N) with M8 flange nuts (O).

Install Couplers

1. Install dust plugs (A) on two female quick couplers (B).

2. Install one quick coupler through bottom hole in quick coupler bracket and secure with snap ring (C).

3. Install remaining quick coupler in top hole. Place snap ring (D) on coupler, but do not secure at this time.

4. Install 11mm O-ring into groove end of small straight fitting. Install 16mm O-ring over threads of small straight fitting.

5. Install small straight fitting (E) in bottom quick coupler. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

6. Install 12mm O-ring into groove end of small 90° elbow fitting. Install 16mm O-ring over threads of small 90° elbow fitting.

7. Install small 90° elbow fitting (F) in top quick coupler with bend directed toward center of tractor. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

Install Hoses

1. Route straight fitting end of short (19mm O.D) hose (A) through notch in quick coupler bracket. Loosely install 45° fitting on hose to 90° elbow fitting (B) on top quick coupler.

2. Move snap ring on top female quick coupler into groove to secure quick coupler.

3. Tighten 45° fitting on 90° elbow fitting to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

4. Tighten quick coupler bracket support hardware (C).

5. Tighten quick coupler bracket hardware (D).

6. Route straight fitting end of hose (E) back around bracket toward rear of tractor, between hard lines (F) and quick coupler bracket (G).

7. Connect fitting to front, bottom valve fitting (H). Tighten to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

8. Connect 45° fitting end of thin hose (I) to bottom quick coupler (J).

9. Route excess hose toward center of tractor, between hard lines (K).

10.Connect straight fitting end of hose (I) to bottom, rear valve fitting (L). Tighten fittings on both ends of hose to 16 N•m (12 lb-ft).

11.Connect 90° elbow fitting end of long (19mm O.D.) hose (M) to top valve fitting. Route hose underneath foot deck.

12.Press and hold hose against front of valve and tighten valve fitting to 50 N•m (37 lb-ft), and 90° elbow fitting to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

13.Route long hose (N) from top valve fitting between hard lines (O) and quick coupler bracket (P)

14.Install 12mm O-ring into groove end of remaining 90° elbow fitting (Q). Install 16mm O-ring over threads of 90° elbow fitting.

15.Loosely install 90° elbow fitting (Q) on straight fitting end of long (19mm O.D.) hose (R).

16.Install male quick coupler (S) on end of 90° elbow fitting. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

17.Clean area around existing coupler chart label. Install new coupler chart label (T) on top of old one.

19.Connect male quick coupler (U) to #6 coupler.

20.Tighten elbow and hose fitting to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

21.Secure hose underneath foot deck with tie wrap (V) using existing hole in frame.

22.Secure hose (W) (front bottom valve fitting to top female quick coupler) to bracket, using existing hole in bracket and tie wrap (X). Pull hose tight to bracket to prevent contact with pedal linkages.

23.Secure all three hoses from valve together with tie wrap (Y).

24.Connect hydraulic hose (Z) from mower lift kit to #5 coupler.

25.Secure two hoses connected to lower female quick coupler to hard line with tie wrap (aa).

26.Connect hydraulic loader hoses to operate implement:

• green hose to #4 coupler

• black hose to #3 coupler

• silver hose to #2 coupler

• yellow hose to #1 coupler

Install SCV Control Label and Handle

1. Clean area around existing SCV control label. Install new SCV control label (A) on top of old one.

2. Locate hole 38mm (1.5 in.) (B) from inside vertical edge of fender and 127mm (5 in.) (C) from foot deck.

3. Drill an 11mm hole in fender.

4. Install M6 nut (D) and handle (E) onto end of linkage rod.

5. Insert linkage rod through hole, install 5/16-18 nut onto end of linkage rod and install rod into valve stem.

6. Install 5/16-18x1/2 bolt (F) into valve stem.

7. Hold bolt in place with wrench, and tighten 5/16-18 nut on other side of stem. Tighten M6 nut on handle.

8. Install wheel. Tighten wheel bolts to 88 N•m (65 lb-ft).

Install Kit (2320)

Install Valve Support

1. Install assembled valve (A) to valve support (B) in lower set of mounting holes, with two M8x50 carriage bolts (inserted from back side of support) and two M8 nuts (C). Firmly tighten hardware.

2. Install 90° elbow fitting end on long (19mm O.D.) hose (D) to top valve fitting.

3. Press and hold hose against front of valve and tighten valve fitting to 50 N•m (37 lb-ft), and 90° elbow fitting to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

4. Locate clamp (D) at front of right fender and loosen bolt.

5. Loosely install valve support (E) on tractor with M10x25 hex head bolt (F) in forward hole and M10x50 flange head bolt (G) and 21mm spacer (placed behind support) in rear hole.

6. With edge of valve support (E) vertical, tighten bolts.

7. Tighten clamp bolt.

Install SCV Brackets and Couplers

1. Position quick coupler bracket (A) underneath quick coupler bracket support (B) and loosely install two M8x16 carriage bolts (C) and M8 flange nuts (D).

2. Remove top two bolts (E) from SCV bracket.

3. Loosely install quick coupler bracket support and bracket assembly to tractor with two M8x20 hex head bolts (F).

4. Install dust plugs (G) on two female quick couplers (H).

5. Install female quick couplers in bracket (I) with snap rings.

6. Install 11mm O-ring into groove end of small straight fitting. Install 16mm O-ring over threads of fitting.

7. Install small straight fitting (J) in bottom quick coupler. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

8. Install 12mm O-ring into groove end of small 90° elbow fitting. Install 16mm O-ring over threads of elbow fitting.

9. Install 90° elbow fitting (K) in top quick coupler with bend directed toward center of tractor. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

Install Hoses

1. Loosely connect 45° fitting end of short (19mm O.D.) hose (A) to 90° fitting on top quick coupler (B).

2. Route hose under and behind brake linkage (C) to valve.

3. Connect straight fitting end of hose to front, bottom valve fitting (D). Tighten to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

4. Tighten 45° fitting on hose to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

5. Keeping outer edge of quick coupler bracket vertical, firmly tighten quick coupler bracket (to support) hardware.

6. Firmly tighten quick coupler bracket support (to tractor) hardware.

7. Clean area around existing coupler chart label. Install new coupler chart label (E) on top of old one.

8. Route long hose (F) from top valve fitting above short hose and through notch in quick coupler bracket support (G).

9. Install 12mm O-ring into groove end, and 16mm O-ring over threads of remaining 90° elbow fitting (H).

10.Loosely install 90° elbow fitting (H) on straight fitting end of long hose (I).

11.Install male quick coupler (J) on end of 90° elbow fitting. Tighten to 37 N•m (27 lb-ft).

12.Refer to new coupler chart label and remove hose from

13.Refer to new coupler chart label (K) and connect male quick coupler (L) to #6 coupler.

14.Tighten elbow and hose fitting to 24 N•m (18 lb-ft).

15.Secure long hose to quick coupler support bracket with tie wrap (M).

16.Connect 45° fitting end of thin hose (N) to bottom quick coupler (O).

17.Route hose behind and under brake linkage (P) to valve.

18.Connect straight fitting end of hose to bottom, rear valve fitting (Q).

19.Tighten fittings on both ends of hose to 16 N•m (12 lb-ft).

20.Secure thin hose to hard line with tie wrap (R).

21.Secure two hoses from bottom valve fittings to hard line with tie wrap (S).

22.Secure long hose from top valve fitting to fender with tie wrap (T).

23.Connect hydraulic hose from independent lift kit to #5 coupler.

24.Connect hydraulic loader hoses to operate implement:

• green hose to #4 coupler

• black hose to #3 coupler

• silver hose to #2 coupler

• yellow hose to #1 coupler

Install SCV Control Label and Handle

2. Locate hole 41mm (B) from vertical edge of fender and 84mm (C) from bottom edge of seat closeout.

3. Drill an 11mm hole in seat closeout.

4. Install M6 nut (D) and handle (E) onto end of linkage rod.

5. Insert linkage rod through hole, install 5/16-18 nut onto end of linkage rod and install rod into valve stem.

6. Install 5/16-18x1/2 bolt (F) into valve stem.

7. Hold bolt in place with wrench, and tighten 5/16-18 nut on other side of stem. Tighten M6 nut on handle.

8. Install wheel. Tighten wheel bolts to 115 N•m (85 lb-ft).

Operating Diverter

Before using loader, fully raise mower deck and turn mower height control knob clockwise to highest setting, to lock mower deck in raised position.

To operate loader: Pull handle out and follow instructions on using hydraulic dual selective control valve (SCV) in tractor operator’s manual.

To operate independent lift kit for mower deck: Push handle in and move dual SCV lever left to lift mower deck. Move dual SCV lever right to lower mower deck. Do not move SCV lever full right or to “regen position” as it will lift mower deck.

c CAUTION: Avoid injury! Do not use SCV outlets located under foot deck to operate any implement other than a loader or independent lift kit. A rear coupler kit must be installed to operate any rear hydraulic driven implements.
