Advantages of Arduino Arduino is a microcontroller on a circuit board which makes it easy to receive inputs and drive outputs. A microcontroller is
a integrated computer on a chip.Some examples of inputs would be a temperature sensor, a motion sensor, a distance sensor, a
switch and so forth. Some examples of outputs would be a light, a screen, a motor and so forth.
Programming Arduino You’ll need to download the Arduino Software package for your
operating system from the Arduino download page
(http://arduino.cc/en/Main/Software). You also need USB cable to
transfer the program from your computer to the board.
After opening the downloaded program select board type (Tools
> Board). The code you write for your Arduino are known as sketches. They
are written in C++. Every sketch needs two void type
functions, setup() and loop(). A void type function doesn’t return any value.
The setup() method is ran once at the just after the Arduino is powered up
and the loop()method is ran continuously afterwards. The setup() is where
you want to do any initialisation steps, and in loop() you want to run the
code you want to run over and over again.

3. Temperature and Humidity Sensor DHT11 The DHT11 is a basic, ultra low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. It uses a capacitive humidity sensor and a thermistor to
measure the surrounding air, and spits out a digital signal on the data pin (no analog input pins needed). Its fairly simple to use, but
requires careful timing to grab data. The only real downside of this sensor is you can only get new data from it once every 2 seconds,
so when using our library, sensor readings can be up to 2 seconds old. Compared to the DHT22, this sensor is less precise, less accurate
and works in a smaller range of temperature/humidity, but its smaller and less expensiveComes with a 4.7K or 10K resistor, which
you will want to use as a pullup from the data pin to VCC.

5. DHT22 Humidity & Temperature Sensor The DHT22 is a basic, low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor. Simply connect the first pin on the left to 3-5V power, the second pin to your data input pin and the right most pin to ground. 6. DS18B20 Waterproof Digital Temperature Sensor Probe This is a pre-wired and waterproofed version of the DS18B20 sensor. Handy for when you need to measure something far away,
or in wet conditions. While the sensor is good up to 125°C the cable is jacketed in PVC so we suggest keeping it under
100°C. Because they are digital, you don’t get any signal degradation even over long distances! These 1-wire digital temperature
sensors are fairly precise (±0.5°C over much of the range) and can give up to 12 bits of precision from the onboard digital-to-
analog converter. They work great with any microcontroller using a single digital pin, and you can even connect multiple ones to the
same pin, each one has a unique 64-bit ID burned in at the factory to differentiate them. Usable with 3.0-5.0V systems.
