The Institute should also have experience in conducting undergraduate and post-graduate programmes of recognized/deemed Universities. The number of Study Centres to be created in a city will depend on the size of the city, population of the city and number of students likely to be enrolled. The following infrastructure is the guideline principle for approval of the Study Centre: Norms For IT Programs a) Location of Centre. b) Carpet area of at least 1500-2500 sq. ft., suitable modified for labs, classrooms and library c) At least 20 computers of P-III/P-IV configuration with facility for Printers, Internet, Network, and Scanning. d) Library facilities with at least 200-250 titles of books. e) Appropriate dust proofing and air-conditioning. f) Two classrooms with proper seating capacity of 30 each. Norms For MANAGEMENT Programs a) All conditions as stated above for IT Programmes b) Additional Area - 300 sq ft. (Total Area required : 1500 - 2000 sq. ft) c) Additional Number of Classroom - One (Total Classrooms required : Three) d) Additional Number of Books in Library – 150 Norms For TRADITIONAL Programs a) All conditions as stated above for IT Programmes. b) Additional Area - 300 sq ft. (Total Area required : 1500 - 2500 sq. ft) c) Additional Number of Classroom - One (Total Classrooms required : Four) d) Additional Number of Books in Library – 50 Common Requirements for all Programs a) Supporting Staff including lab assistants. b) Generators, Audio-Video facility, hardware and software. c) Public conveniences. d) Each Study Centre should have a reliable E-mail ID and Mobile Number for day to day communication with KSOU and SCOPE, Bangalore. The above requirements will be for student strength of 50 to 100. Additional infrastructure will be required as per the student strength fitting into the rules and norms stipulated by KSOU.

Minimum Requirement For the study centre for running the Engineering
Program.
a. The centre should be located in the important area of the town so that students can reach the centre easily.
b. Carpet area of at least 1500 sq. ft., to 2500 sq.ft., suitably modified for labs and classrooms for smooth running of classes.
c. The centre should have team of competent faculties for running the classes.
d. A lab of any Engineering College or equivalent should be attached with the study centre for requisite practical. The study centre should take consent from
the college / institution having infrastructure facilities and competent manpower for imparting the practical trainings of the concerned subjects.
e. Library facilities - Sufficient number of books on relevant subjects should beavailable with the study centre.
f. Electrical power generators, Air conditioners, UPS, Computers and associatedperipheral devices, table and chairs for computers as per program and cupboard to store consumable items and system manual.
g. Computer lab should be Pentium based, LAN & Pentium based nodes.
h. Telephone line for modem connection to external networks or Broadband connection if possible.
i. In addition to the computer institute must have all the software that are given in the curriculum of related courses year wise and out of the minimum number of computers mentioned above 50% computers must be of higher configuration.
j. All the software should be licensed.
k. Permanent faculty of whom at least one will be a postgraduate in engineering and other could be B.E. or diploma depending on the subjects they teach.
l. Additional infrastructure will be required as per the student strength fitting into the rules and norms stipulated by the university.
