Processing a new patient
What are the steps?
What can happen before the patient comes into the office.
• The new patient is available online at the Parker website this will save 20 to 30 minutes
• If the patient has insurance they call ahead and get verification on their coverage
• The front desk can verify information from the handout.
• What should happen before the patient arrives at the clinic.
• Schedule the examination prior to the arrival in the book if at all possible get your QA whether in student or outpatient the sooner the QA’s are done the better
• When the patient arrives ,they will either have to fill out forms or as mention they have completed it from the internet download
• Cont. 1st visit
• You will take a case history this includes
• Chief complaint.
• Illness present or past .
• Past surgeries or accidents.
• Any medications pharmaceutical or over the counter.
• Physical examination
• Perform subscan and foot scan at outpatient.
• If xrays are called for by your clinic doctor you will begin that process, after an evaluation has been made
Xray
• Exam completed
• Recommendation form completed
• Clinic doctor signoff
• Nameplate typed
• All consents completed by the patient
• Pregnancy test taken if required
2nd visit
• The exam is completed
• Xrays if needed have been taken and cleared by radiologist or clinic doctor
• Report of findings will be given and consent to treat signed by patient in the presents of a clinic doctor
• A PMTP will be completed by the intern
2nd visit cont.
• A soap note will completed
• A differential diagnosis will be written
• All consents reviewed to include Minors
• Review of file by the clinic doctor and signatures completed
• Care may be render and adjustment performed
