If you notice any of the following with your patients please refer them for a FREE orthodontic evaluation: Early or late loss of baby teeth. Late eruption of permanent teeth. Clearsmiles Fact Sheet 1 Problems to watch for in growing children For young patients, early identification of developing ortho- dontic problems can prevent severe malocclusions and guide the eruption of permanent teeth. The best time to refer a child to see an orthodontist is at SEVEN YEARS OF AGE. Early orthodontic treatment can reduce the need for more complex treatment later and also the treatment time in braces. Should your patient have a particular malocclusion that does not require early orthodontic treatment, they will be placed on our complementary Family Care Program. This places them on a 6 monthly recall to monitor for any changes and gives patients and parents peace of mind knowing that if treatment is needed, it happens at the right time. Anterior Cross Bite Top anterior teeth are on the inside of the lower teeth. Posterior Cross Bite Top molars are on the inside of the lower molars.
