Cumulative Project Progress for the Pan Elite Controller

Page 2: Pro301 week 4 assignment

Introduction

• SIP Objective- To create a modular-part control pad with hot-swappable buttons, D-pads, and analog sticks giving a player the ultimate in customization for their gaming needs.

• Sprint Objective- To continue the created working prototype of the controller with swappable hand grips.

Self-Analysis

• For the completed project it turned out very well. Controller functions and operates as it was intended. The controller grips are removable and swappable They are different colors and are even molded differently to show some of this controllers potential for customization. As you can see in the pictures the d-pad and control stick are completely exchangeable with out the previous hindrance of having to take the controller apart.

– The Project So Far.

• In this third test controller, the controller not only has an exchangeable d-pad and control stick however it also boasts swappable grips as well. Everything functions the way it was intended and is even as sensitive with no loss of gameplay.

– Things That Went Well, and Why.

• The project was tougher than what I expected. However taking the controllers apart and finding where to remove the grips and how to reattach them was fairly easy. In fact the grips reattach with almost no effort. The d-pad and control stick took a little while to figure out how to make them seamless by removing but in the end dedication won out.

– Things That Did Not Go Well, and Why.

• The major road bump that I had with this part of the project was not being able to the rumble packs that were originally in the controller grips. I have no doubt that in a future mock controller that this would be doable but with my limited soldering skills I could not reinitiate this part.

– Creative Ideas For Ways That You Will Make Modifications To Your Project.

• Honestly the project turned out great. The only hindrance is the lack of rumble but this is not necessary for the controller as a whole but I have no doubt it could be included in a future version.

– Ways That You Will Improve Your Time Management Next Week.

• I actually did great on my time management this week by scheduling my days off at key points throughout the week. The following week I plan on repeating this by scheduling my days strategically throughout the week so that I have guaranteed time to work on the next project.

Conclusion

Summed up

• This has been a great next phase in getting my innovation, the Pan Elite Controller realized and conceptualized once again. With the swappable grips and exchangeable d-pad and grips, the only other concept I need to prove is the loss of rumble in the controller grips. I am one step closer to getting my innovation into the hands of gamers around the world.
