Our Private Wealth Management Department helps our clients in tax
planning and the preparation of wills and trusts and in making
arrangements for financial and other matters if you or your relatives
are incapacitated by illness or accident. We also deal with the estates
of people who have died.
We aim to deliver a superior quality, specialist and personal service
to all our clients.
Our expertise includes:
Probate Setting up a trust
Trusts Obtaining a grant of probate
Tax Planning Lasting powers of attorney
Preparing Wills
Inheritance Tax Planning and Wills
A Will is a vital document, whatever the size of your estate which
ensures that your assets will pass in accordance with your wishes on
your death. Making a will is also an opportunity to guard your estate
against inheritance tax. Wills also allow you to appoint guardians for
your children, ensure adequate financial provision for your loved ones
and the appointment of the persons of your choice to administer your
estate.
Probate
When a person dies, we can act on behalf of the personal representatives
to make an application for a grant of probate or administration, submit
all necessary tax forms and ensure all liabilities are settled and all assets
are correctly collected and distributed. We provide advice on
minimising inheritance tax. We understand that it can be difficult to
cope with the death of a loved one. We will deal with each estate to
minimise the worry and stress for the family of the deceased.
Trusts
We act in the formation and management of trusts. Trusts can be an
effective way of providing for future generations and are a tax planning
tool. We can provide advice on off shore trusts.
Lasting Powers of Attorney
Lasting powers of attorney allow you to appoint the person of your
choice to look after your financial affairs and/or personal welfare should
you be unable to do so. There are two distinct lasting powers of
attorney; one deals with property and affairs; the other deals with
decisions about welfare and care. The documents are lengthy and
complex. We can guide you through these and apply for their
registration on your behalf.
