Robrock captured the 500 freestyle by more than six sec- onds with a time of 4:53.55. He also won the 50 freestyle (22.13). Wright took the top spot in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.01) and was second in the 200 indi- vidual medley (2:05.07). Robrock was also part of two relays that ended up second. He teamed with Wright, Kleist and Heskin in the 200 medley (1:43.61). He joined forces with Heskin, McClenahan and Jen- ness in the 400 freestyle relay (3:34.81). Prior Lake’s 200 freestyle relay team of Jenness, Ochsner, Bragg and Alec Robrock was sixth (1:42.17). Jenness also had a pair of top-five finishes. He was fifth in the 200 freestyle (1:57.01) and third in the 100 freestyle (53.17). Heskin ended up sixth in the 200 individual medley (2:15.22) and ninth in the 100 backstroke (1:04.68). Ochsner was fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:09.29) and eighth in the 200 individual medley (2:16.14). Alec Robrock ended up ninth in the 100 butterfly (1:02.44), while Bragg was ninth in both the 200 freestyle (2:01.94) and the 500 freestyle (5:32.02). Kleist ended up sixth in the 100 free- style (54.31). Rieger led the Lakers in diving, taking third with 370.10 points. Cunningham was fifth (253.10). In the win over St. Paul Central, the Lakers got off to another good start leading 28-13 at the break en route to the 21-point win. Eschrich scored 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds. Pold and Lauren Busse each had 12 points. Pold also grabbed 12 rebounds. Trabing finished with 10 points, while Flaata scored seven. Hovick finished with six assists, while Trabing had four. The tournament field included four ranked teams going – No. 1 Hopkins, No. 2 Eden Prairie and No. 7 Eastview, along with Osseo. Hopkins ended up beating Eden Prairie for the title. Prior Lake dropped the final two games at the invite, losing 53-35 to No. 2-ranked Tartan and falling 61-54 in overtime to Rog- ers in the third-place game. “Each team we played (at the tourney) presented a dif- ferent challenge for us,” said Focke. “Elk River was a perim- eter-based team, so we needed to get out and contest three-point shots. “Tartan was very athletic and Rogers was big and strong and liked to pound the ball inside,” added Focke. “Playing a variety of different teams will certainly help us prepare for the conference schedule and the section.” In the win over Elk River, the Lakers got a career-high 20 points from Harrison. Sobaski had 15 points, while Dysthe had 14. Kaiser and Hop- kins each had eight points. Against Tartan, the Lakers struggled in the first half and were held to just nine points to trail by 11. Kaiser was the only Laker in double figures with 11 points, while Sobaski and junior Jake Hanson each had six points. Sophomore Sam Harrison finished with four points. Senior Christian Kvalseth led the Laker boys team, tak- ing 16th out of 68 racers, while junior Megan Lundquist was the top finisher for the girls squad taking 22nd out of 71 competitors. The Prior Lake boys had a little more success in the team standings, finishing sixth out of eight schools with 83.5 points. Independent School District 196 won the title with 173 points. Lakeville South was second (123), followed by Lakeville North (114.5), Bloomington Jefferson (112) and Chaska/ Chanhassen (97). Bloomington Kennedy was seventh (65) and Burnsville was eighth (51). Kvalseth had a time of 14 minutes, 39 seconds, which was a couple minutes off the win- ning time of 12:21. Ninth-grader Mick Lun- dquist ended up 20th for the Lak- ers (14:48), followed by junior Brian Lafrance in 28th (15:18), junior Nate Vikeras in 32nd (15:25), junior Ben Brockway in 39th (15:42), senior Conner Edlund in 42nd (16:02), junior Ben Dymit in 45th (16:16), senior Matt Ruehling in 46th (16:17), ninth-grader Adam Babcock in 51st (16:58) and ninth-grader Ryan Nelson in 56th (17:02).
