Printed Cinema 12
at an unspecified point in time (thepast and the future), a witness observesthe silent encounter of art works fromdifferent epochs. the reason for thismeeting is unknown to him, but he hasthe impression it is being conductedwith a degree of urgency, despite hav -ing been in progress for years, even de-cades. as he moves easily betweenvarious groups, he recognizes both re-lationships and negation between par-ticipants.
Some of the protagonists ignore him, while others are friendly and invite himto join them. they seem unconcernedthat there could perhaps be any threatto their situation or their timeless world,
no need to change anything, or even tooffer a single opinion. at this momentthey simply exist, unconcerned, disin-terested; one figure swings their arms toand fro, a couple in love are caughtlooking into the distance, a womandances towards us.
But there is a tension – they are poised,as if waiting to begin. initially, there isdialogue between the groups. the ob-jects lend each other mutual support;there is a silent collusion between themas they draw together. Some of theirstat ic thoughts are visible and can bepassed through, almost like archi-tecture, but others remain an unfath-omable mystery.
