Week 1B 1.5.2018 Principal's Report Welcome back to Term 2. I trust the break was great for your children to rest, recover from a busy Term 1 and reenergise for the term ahead. The Term 2 season in the Riverina gradually shifts from the gorgeous days we have been having to cold nights and early morning frosts. At the moment, your kids may well want a jacket in the morning and will come home in shirtsleeves. A great teaching opportunity to remember to bring home their jackets. Students can choose to wear summer or winter uniform for the next few weeks although they will need to be in full winter uniform for our Photo Days on May 10 and 11. Last week, groups of student leaders, cadets, scouts and others joined the ANZAC day marches. They were respectful and enthusiastic. I love that our students see this day as an important part of our culture. Thank you for your support and participation during the day. We will be a having our own ANZAC service this Wednesday at 10:50am. Thank you to the defence force personnel and others that will be assisting. Our secondary athletics carnival is going to be held this coming Friday 4 May. Students and staff will travel to Jubilee Park for the day. You are very welcome to join us. Here is a link to the letter with details of the day’s events. If your child requires bus transport, please return the form by 9:00am Thursday 3 May. We are blessed with gifted and committed tradespeople who assist us in maintaining our facilities. Over the break, we established a new operable wall between two class rooms and the replacement of gutters on A and D Blocks. Thank you also to our amazing cleaning and maintenance staff who worked tirelessly to maintain the College over the break. A number of our students attended the Scripture Union Fishing and Diving camp and the Soul Survivor camp over the break. I’ve heard great things about these camps and the encouragement they were to our students. Have a wonderful week, Mr Hugh MacCallum, Principal

Week 1B 1.5.2018 Principal's Report
Welcome back to Term 2. I trust the break was great for your children to rest, recover from a busy Term 1 and
reenergise for the term ahead.
The Term 2 season in the Riverina gradually shifts from the gorgeous days we have been having to cold nights
and early morning frosts. At the moment, your kids may well want a jacket in the morning and will come home in
shirtsleeves. A great teaching opportunity to remember to bring home their jackets. Students can choose to
wear summer or winter uniform for the next few weeks although they will need to be in full winter
uniform for our Photo Days on May 10 and 11.
Last week, groups of student leaders, cadets, scouts and others joined the ANZAC day marches. They were
respectful and enthusiastic. I love that our students see this day as an important part of our culture. Thank you
for your support and participation during the day. We will be a having our own ANZAC service this Wednesday
at 10:50am. Thank you to the defence force personnel and others that will be assisting.
Our secondary athletics carnival is going to be held this coming Friday 4 May. Students and staff will
travel to Jubilee Park for the day. You are very welcome to join us. Here is a link to the letter with details of the
day’s events. If your child requires bus transport, please return the form by 9:00am Thursday 3 May.
We are blessed with gifted and committed tradespeople who assist us in
maintaining our facilities. Over the break, we established a new operable wall
between two class rooms and the replacement of gutters on A and D Blocks.
Thank you also to our amazing cleaning and maintenance staff who worked
tirelessly to maintain the College over the break.
A number of our students attended the Scripture Union Fishing and
Diving camp and the Soul Survivor camp over the break. I’ve heard great
things about these camps and the encouragement they were to our students.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED We are seeking a volunteer to drive 6 students to and from the Riding For Disabled Stables.
Drivers must be available each Tuesday between the hours of 11am and 1pm, Terms 2 to 4. The vehicle is a 12 seater mini bus and
only requires a standard driving licence. Volunteers will need to provide a Working With
Children Check.
Learning Support staff member, Mr Shane Ceccato, would love to hear from you as soon
as possible. Contact the College Office to apply. Your help would be much appreciated.
COLLEGE PHOTO DAYS Thursday 10 May (Whole School) and Friday 11 May
(Preschool) 2018 are our WWCC Photo Days.
Envelopes were sent home with instructions on the first day of Term 2, here is a link to the letter. Please see this link to MSP for more details of what is included in
each pack.
All students will have their photo taken in order to update their student files.
Please send students to school in their full WWCC winter uniform. This means long-sleeved College shirts for both girls and boys, and ties for boys. Our
uniform guidelines can be found in the Student Diary or via this link. As many students do not own a College woollen jumper, all students will be photographed in class groups without jumpers. For individual photos,
Downside Bush Dance Sat 5 May, Sat 2 Jun, Sat 7 Jul, Sat 4 Aug, Sat 1 Sep, Sat 6 Oct, Sat 3 Nov, Sat 1 Dec 2018 Time: 7.30pm to midnight Cost: Adults $4, Children gold coin Location: Downside Hall, off Coolamon Road, via Wagga Wagga Contact: David Dunbar on 0427 042 686 Somewhere between Wagga Wagga and Coolamon in the south-west of New South Wales is arguably one of the best preserved old-time community halls in the state. Everything is in good working order; the dance floor is sound, the acoustics and lighting is just right and when the monthly bush dance is in full swing, a very precious part of Australia's history comes to life with an atmosphere non-existent in larger metropolitan areas.
A great time for the whole family and just 20 minutes out of Wagga! Come and enjoy a night of music and dancing at the Downside hall every month (except January).
We are looking for Year 1 and 2 girls who are
interested in playing Indoor Netball, at Wagga
Indoor Sports Centre on Friday afternoons.
Registration is $20 and then $4/week payable at
the Centre. Season starts in the first week of
Term 2 and finishes at the end of Term 3.
We are also looking for parents to assist with
teams and a Team Manager.
